Getting pretty fed up with these now. It's been every day this month. I foster for Cats Protection and it's not helpful when you're trying to get them settled in and there's loud bangs every bloody night. Harrumph!

It’s been a week-long cacophony of noise in our village. We’ve two dogs. One isn’t bothered, but our other is terrified of them and it’s not nice for a day or two, never mind a chuffing week of it.

    They should be banned.

I’ve no issue with the events put on, such as the one at Locke Park for example. A one-off once a year, like. But John Simpleton and his mates down the road, letting off bangers for three hours in his garden can get in the bin.

Same every year. They start setting them off first day they are sold in shops for at least a month.

I don't get how people can afford it. £20 for 3 rockets that go up in smoke in 35 seconds.

    Fart sniffers.

I think that's part of the problem - they go down to half price after the 5th so plenty of people understandably do stuff at home the following Saturday, in addition to the organised displays the Saturday before and home events on the day itself. But even throwing in Diwali that's only 4 days. This is every night.

As @DazFrumTarn says, it's the same every year, but I've got a cat just in who's been living in a car park having been abandoned and she's probably wondering how to get back there for some peace and quiet.

Always worse when actual Bonfire Night is midweek because it gives organisers options to have their displays the week before and the week after. Athersley Rec Community Bonfire is tonight.

It should be brought in as law that you can only let them off on the 5th November that’s it.

Or ban the ones that go off with a bang.

Ours just chills her beans. The only thing that winds her up is if you roast a chicken in the oven

I'd just make silent ones. Outlaw the ones that make a bang.

The younger one sits in the window watching them, the older one is absolutely petrified, she’s currently cowering under a blanket .

If I were in charge they're the only thing I'd ban on day one. Hate the things.

Let councils, etc have displays on the 5th and New Year, and leave it at that.

Oh, and Diwali. That's the big one that always takes me by surprise.

It's always worse when the actual night drops midweek.
    It's bloody annoying though.
The loud explosive stuff should be banned for public sale.

I’ve had a curry so my own explosions are sort of drowning it out!
