Sky Sports have made their latest selection for live broadcast matches for the coming months across the EFL. Television cameras will be at Oakwell for our Sky Bet League One fixture against Burton Albion on Saturday 1 February, now kicking off at 12:30pm. A week later, our trip to Stockport County will be televised on Saturday 8 February, also kicking off at 12:30pm at Edgeley Park. Our final selection comes in our reverse South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham United on Saturday 22 February, the game at the New York Stadium set for a 12:30pm kick-off. An updated fixture list will shortly become available on our website, and all ticketing details will be published closer to the time of the fixtures. Continue reading...
Said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s the third tier not the Prem. They’ll kill crowds at our level and cost clubs like ours more money than we’ll make from their deal.
This is unsustainable. More and more people will stop buying season tickets as there are so few games taking place when they are initially scheduled. 3pm Saturday kick off is becoming a rarity.
What I will say, is that it’s positive that they’re changed well in advance. But 12:30 kick offs are sh***.
Least there localish fixtures can get to Stockport and Rotherham in under a hour but still 3pm much better.
TBH 12:30 works OK for me for Saturday fixtures, it's 7:15 on a Friday night I have more of a problem with. I think this is going to cost a lot of clubs in the long run though.
Game is dead. They've absolutely killed the season for me. I have to give serious thought as to whether or not I renew next year.
Whilst not happy. Tbh I expected worse, as an unofficial coach organiser. Stop off for drinks afterwards instead of afore if need be.
Our matchday programme from the Rotherham game on our fixtures page has us playing Burton Albion two weeks running in February....
Pretty much made my mind up Marc. Happy to POTD for 3pm kickoffs. Only one winner next season as I see it. My golf handicap.
