️ Pre-Match Press Conference (Cambridge United) | Darrell Clarke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1hommc6FrY View on YouTube...
Surely when the interviewer was discussing the benefits of experience in the team there, he must have considered asking whether there is any future role for Hourihane to add more of the same? Are they banned from asking certain questions?
He's answered that question on at least two previous occasions to my knowledge and I don't watch everything. Sorry I can't dig it out as he does at least two interviews every week and there's too much content to trawl through it.
Fair enough, I've certainly missed those interviews. So it's confirmed he's not planning to play at all?
BTW I'm not of the opinion that he was signed to sell season tickets. If he doesn't play and is making a contribution on the coaching front, I'm still pleased he's associated with our club. I just still find it really hard to believe that he doesn't have some kind of contribution to make on the field which can help us, so wanted to know whether Clarke thought the same.
Never say never. I would imagine if there's an injury crisis we'd see him. I remember Danny calling on Mal Shotton to play a few games long after he'd turned his attention to coaching. So, to prevent it coming back and biting him on the arse, Clarke didn't explicitly say that Conor would never play for Barnsley again, but the implication was clear, Conor is focused on coaching not playing, that is his role at BFC and that's what he will be doing.
Found one, from about 5 minutes in, but for about a month he was answering this and similar questions a couple of times per week.
