Just opinion. The soft snow gets rained on leaving behind the ice that's been under it all week. 40+ mile an hour winds and it depends on surrounding areas and standing water. Hopefully be OK.
Got my oversized Under Armour waterproof over keks ready. Make a twenty stone man look thirty stone… Them and my big coit, and just a t shirt underneath as it’s not that cold. Be grand.
I hope it clears for you but unless it was up to the bedroom window I'm nor accepting your outburst .(I did put a smiley face but it didn't come up)
I’m regretting that I am! Walked to local train station to get to Leeds, train cancelled, rushed back to get Will to give me a lift to Leeds station, traffic horrendous and was never going to make it. Now he’s giving me a lift to Oakwell as I wouldn’t make it in time if I drove, had to park up and then walk up to ground. We’ll see what the train journey back will hold.
The journey back started off good as I managed to get the delayed 8mins past train rather than having to wait for the 41mins past. In Leeds, the train I got on was delayed 20mins in the station and then it was announced that it couldn’t go my way because of flooding and to get off and run to another train on a different platform that would be going another route. Loads of trains were being cancelled left, right and centre due to ‘broken trains’, unavailable staff’ and then the flooding. Absolute farce of a day all round and has put me back off public transport again. I’d happily use my car less but not when the alternative is so bad.
January I think. I did think about you during the first half wondering if you'd braved it or not. I found the weather fairly warm yesterday and still regret making the 10 minute trip to the ground (and 1 hour trip home from it because we can't organise a piss up in a brewery)
Temperature wise it was fine in Barnsley. I do wish I had just been brave and drove though. It ended up being a 7 hour ordeal but everyone saying it was going to be a monsoon with high winds, plus the extent of the snow in Leeds, put me off. I couldn’t believe when I got to Barnsley and it was just like any other day in November in England.
I did wonder if I was going mad yesterday morning when people were talking about calling the match off and I thought it was warm, not very windy and just a bit rainy
