Not the brightest when it comes to politics, but labour did win easily, fair enough it'll be the ones that voted for the others or like me that dont generally vote that will be upset, or maybe the pensioners, students an farmers. Next april all the drivers will be aving a go when the road tax goes up 100 quid, or is it media just brainwashing us all, my mate sez there wont be an Election until 2028 at the earliest, an sez Russia will be aving an imput.

There's a lot of selfish people in the UK who believe they are entitled to everything and don't like it when instead they are asked to give some of their wealth to help those who need it so they are kicking off and calling for a general election.

Case in point. Conversation on Saturday "the bloody horrible woman. Course she's got money herself after she's taken my winter fuel allowance". Said as getting into £100,000 car (no I'm not exaggerating)
Or another "the witch is killing this country. We've had our money taken off us how will we afford to heat our home now?" Said approximately 1 minute before "i hate online shopping. Again my m and s order has been delayed. You'd think it would be here on time when Iits a £600 order" (may have been 700 I'm not sure)

I also heard the absolute classic "they still haven't stopped the boats. I'll tell you what, if conservatives had won again they'd have stopped them by now" aye because they managed that in the last 14 years

You're suggesting disenfranchisement for people signing a (albeit ridiculous) petition.

im suggesting some people don’t have the mental cognition to understand the great weight of responsibility voting has allowed them.

I agree with that, Helen. However, I think the requirement to consider a parliamentary debate for petitions attracting more than 100,000 signatures should be removed. This one will rightly be ignored, so it is an utter waste of everyone's time. It has been instigated as a stunt by those opposed to Labour from the outset. If it is not simply a stunt then it is even more idiotic.

People on my facebook feed must have been in a collective coma for 14 years as Labour have caused everything apparently. Was always going to be a tough term to even attempt to reverse 14 years of neglect we have had.

You may call it that. I’d suggest they haven’t thought about it too much. Little bit ironic that 99% of these people have been shouting “you lost , get over it” for 8 years. What is strange is that labours policies are actually helping the vast majority, similar to being in the EU.

Populist right wing grifters getting turkeys to vote for Christmas… if they are too thick (your word) to understand this then we all suffer

The people that have signed that will be the usual morons who lap up simple answers to incredibly complex problems. Can guarantee a large chunk of the signees fell for it with Brexit, and will have fallen for Farage et al's garbage in July too.

I'm not a huge fan of Starmer or Reeves, but they're trying to sort out 14 years of Tory misery, interspersed with unhelpful global crises like Covid and Ukraine. Give them a chance ffs.

Tbf, the petition isn't saying 'Labour won, we want another go', it's saying 'they've gone back on their promises', which is a different thing really. That's a legitimate thing to challenge. Obviously calling for another GE is a bit silly and reactionary, but they have 2m+ names, which is 20x more than is required for a parliamentary discussion. That's also democracy. I agree though, I'm assuming the vast majority of those who have signed the petition, didn't vote Labour in the recent GE.
