The story sounds a bit harsh , however, I've never heard of him

I'm not sure what Matt has said or done. But it's quite commonplace for people nowadays to be hauled over the coals when imo speaking out. And sometimes gives a company the easy way out.
I've seen more folk climb the ladder (not all) than I care to think about. By giving those above what they want to hear, rather than what they need to hear. And it's usually why some businesses go tits up. And I include my old employers in that. Penny wise pound foolish wasn't/isn't the half of it.

He’s using it as an excuse for his behaviour although he has held his hands up about it.

It does seem harsh though but i suspect the club used it as a good way to save money which is ridiculous.

Another of the many examples of those in charge of the club being out of touch with the vast majority of the fan base and not "getting' Barnsley FC. It looks to me as if they were looking for an excuse to get rid of Matt for financial reasons and he inadvertently gave them one by getting pissed off with working with one hand tied behind his back because of poor equipment. Just another long standing loyal staff member going out of the door at Oakwell and another poor show by those in charge.

How bad can it have been ? I’d suggest it fits the clubs comms agenda how it’s being made non league.

This seems stupid to me as the club can't possibly know that is true. It's equally as possible that the significant impact has been caused by the piss poor reliability, technical problems and the disappearance of the main commentator

Unless I'm being thick it also makes no sense. He's been replaced by someone, so unless the person replacing him isn't getting paid how can it be a financial decision?

The replacement isn’t being paid, except for expenses.

IFollow has been absolutely atrocious this season. I’m not talking about Calum, who clearly isn’t as experienced because how could he be, but in terms of matches with huge periods of silence, away commentators cheering the other team’s goals because it’s really their commentary our club is streaming, free radio commentary we’re being charged for. I’ve stopped bothering because it’s just so bad. If they’ve lost me, who’s listened for basically forever, you know it’s bad. They won’t care though because they’ve already got my subscription money for this season.

And when you don't renew they will apparently just assume it's because of sky because actually asking your customers their opinions on things is beyond the scope of a small corner shop company like bfc

Why would the club make an announcement on a PA job or any clerical admin job , it’s not a playing role or Director , and we’ve had loads of employees related to club officials in the past .

If he's offended someone. He's lucky not to be imprisoned in todays cultural climate.
