Why is Clarke out the answer now? Look at the stats for the last three or four games. As I said on another thread, I’m not his biggest fan. I wouldn’t be gutted if he left. But these last four results lie squarely at the feet of the recruitment and Clarke’s involvement in that would have been at best minimal. I think we’ve been poor at home in the main ok but the last three? It isn’t his fault he hasn’t got a centre forward who could hit a cow’s arse with a banjo.
Assuming Connell was down to take the last penalty they should have swapped him to 4th taker- no point leaving him to take a penalty that never was.
Probably waiting for the sixth or seventh one, if it came, as that was the one his coach asked him to take. Players, captain or not, don’t decide who takes penalties and in what position.
Did not see the footy t'day just had no interest an was out all day walking on Bempton cliff tops, not surprised we lost, reading these comments, and looking at the attendance, looks like i wasnt the only one.
Players can decide if they don’t fancy it though. Given the standard of his shooting recently I’m not sure I’d want him taking one anyway…..
I saw the Wrexham v Mansfield game recently and wasn't impressed at all by Wrexham. Mansfield were far better than them and very unlucky to lose. I quite fancy us to win there.
Ridiculous comments aren't they to be honest. And if the owners do sack him, and lose more money by doing that. And then if the replacement doesn't win X amount of games by whenever, will they want yet another sacking ?.
Totally agree about Wrexham on Tuesday. Think Saturday will bring out a performance like we’ve had against Derby last few seasons. I don’t think we’ll win next three games which will make it seven without a win with Bolton and Peterborough away with Wrexham at home New Years Day. On the other hand, I do think we’ll draw Birmingham, Exeter, Bolton and Wrexham (at home) and I positively do think we’ll beat Orient and Peterborough.
I'd not be surprised to see us beat Wrexham, with it being away. A draw with Brum, and then at Exeter, then a loss at home to Orient.
The forwards should be in training this morning and might I suggest letting them practice shooting at an Hi Vis goal frame with flashing LED lights across the crossbar?
It's been the same in a few games with Wrexham so far this season and they seem to have got quite lucky and won without really deserving it. They're a typical Phil Parkinson side, well organised at the back and direct. I don't think they will batter us but our massive problem is we can't score and we're prone to giving away a soft goal.
"No one looked out on their legs" I agree but not in the way you're insinuating. To constantly attack for over 120 minutes proved to me that our fitness levels are very good.Did you not notice Bristol players out on there legs going to ground at every opportunity, socks round their ankles. A very solid 8 out of 10 performance , 0 out of 10 for finishing 10 out of 10 for fitness.
Let's be honest now,we're making poor teams look good ,Wigan Reading , Bristol Rovers we're very very poor in my opinion yesterday. So it's only a matter of time the head coach is going to get some stick. I wouldn't call it knee jerk reactions.
