I read it as meaning he had nowt to do in normal time and saved no penalties, so a bowl of trifle would have had the same effect on the result as Killip did.
Every shot Bristol Rovers had on target went in didn't it? Nothing for 120 minutes, then 4 penalties and 4 goals. Wouldn't have made any difference if we'd put Killip in goal, or a scarecrow, or a bowl of trifle. They would have still scored 4 goals. I'm not slagging Killip off, just pointing out what happened.
Killip hasn’t done too badly since coming in, made no obvious errors like Slonina did. The worrying thing is his shots to saves ratio. He doesn’t seem to stop many for sure. That said, it’s the other end of the pitch that’s the biggest concern right now.
Typical that we get a clean sheet and still lose… Ah well. Huge week ahead and hopefully we sharpen up in front of goal and give ourselves a chance against two of the promotion favourites.
Thought we edged the Wigan game & were by far the best side in both the Reading game & today. It’s frustrating but I don’t think we’re playing badly. That’s 4 home games in a row where we’ve created far more chances than the opposition & we’ve only won one of them. I don’t know what the answer is. Humphrys, DKD & Phillips are all normally pretty clinical or at least seemed it up until the last few games. It’s not like there’s replacements ready to come in who we can trust to score goals.
I got where Jay was coming from. (Or at least I think I did) re Killip. He Is well worth his place in goal. But when it came to penalties the writing was on the wall because of his height. Well placed, bottom corners for 3 of em. He's going to struggle on that front. But It should never have got to that stage to put him in that position. We had enough chances to win 3 games. Totally outplayed em. It's so frustrating, I go to home games expecting the worst result wise.
If we've dominated today like the stats suggest, and like some fans are saying as well who saw it. It sounds like we deserved much better and Bristol really have been lucky and stolen the 'win'. Then how/why is this Clarke's fault, and why are people saying he's rubbish again and are wanting him sacked again. This is just unbelievable. I don't like to keep making excuses either, about bogey teams and bad luck and bad referees etc. But come on ehh!!!.
And we managed to find a so called Billionare with no intention of running a football club correctly.
Correct Clarke imo. Unlike Collins at the time cannot be blamed for the latest results. Players have to take most of the responsibility. Dominating games like we have recently should not have resulted in those scorelines. It's so frustrating as Clarke alludes to.
