For those who are superstitious our record since her appointment is equally as bad as our record in the pink kit.
Unless she’s the one stopping us converting chances, I’m not sure of the reason of this post other than to stir up some hatred toward the family of JAQ?
That was the point of my OP - people seem to be fussing about it but I don’t know who she is or what role she has. She might hurt well be perfectly qualified to perform the role.
I understand she has experience in the US soccer system and was a college player until injury. She is also a musician. i believe she is head of the women's section of our club and assists the CEO.
My Dad got me a job at Naylors, My grandad got my dad and uncle a job at the pit, it happens parents getting their kids a job at same firm. More things to worry about like our strikers being 5hite
It could be that the Jaqs want to keep the business in the family, then not to share or spread information outside the family, we know its difficult to find information out until its done at Oakwell.
Her name is Penelope Edmonds(JAQ married name) joined in July this year. Job title is Chief of Staff to CEO & General Manager, Women’s football. What the role is ??? But a little research shows Crystal Palace appointed someone as a Chief of Staff role and his duties are described as a liaison between the football side and CEO/Senior Management. Can’t imagine it’s a high paying role as the CP person is a retired 26 year old goalkeeper who only played in MLS.
It's a little bit different from someone's Dad recommending their lad to the pit gaffer when it's someone on the board of directors seemingly creating a professional role for their daughter. Was there a fair process whereby a job description and salary was advertised and anyone qualified had the chance to apply? If not, we ought to see some evidence to dispute the notion that it's a role that doesn't need to exist and is in place for the personal benefit of the holder rather than the organisation. When we're told there's no more money to pay long-serving, committed local people who need a wage (as has been made public in at least one instance recently), it matters.
Weren’t as much debate on here ten years ago when previous custodians brought their family in. What’s different now? That it’s an American woman bringing in her American daughter?
I think you're probably right with the second part but that doesn't mean questions shouldn't have been asked in the past too.
