That was a stinking performance. Proper s****.

However, it was still good enough for a goalless draw. Or should have been…

Connell ought to apologise in the changing room for the goal conceded. He’s a mile out of position, zero excuse.

Not that we deserved anything better playing like that.

Ah well. I’m genuinely losing interest.

    6th biggest wage at £5.3m, Wycombe 12th at £4.1m.

Some of our so called better players should definitely be producing a bit more. Tonight was a winnable game if they'd turned up.

Thanks. Well there we are. It’s pretty likely we will continue to challenge if the wages remain at that level

You've seen alot of ups and downs as most on here have over the years, but it's worrying if you feel that way, I've seen you have way more belief even when we've been s.hitter than present, speaks volumes to where we're at.

    Rough times

Maybe mate but I'd only judge him fully after a run of 8 or 9 consecutive starts.

Whilst I see where you’re coming from , I think we have to credit Wrexham. They harassed and harried for a full 90 minutes. They were very well set up and difficult to breakdown.

Sometimes you call only play as well as the opposition allows you (well all times really)

agree on Connell btw, or whoever was supposed to be protecting the defence.

I'd be seriously considering, as his gaffer, seeing what he could do up front.

I've given up on Cosgrove after tonight. I've cut him slack and willed him to come good but it's now my firm belief he took a shedload of drugs before the 2 Bolton games.

The longer the current regime are in charge the worse the situation will become. Neither they or the yes men and women they have employed appear to be up to the job. The recruitment goes from bad to worse every window. We need to get out of this league (upwards) ASAP because the longer we are stuck in L1 the greater the malaise becomes. The worry is after an upturn in performances we've had a couple of poor results / performances and the confidence appears to be draining from the players again. They appear to be a very fragile bunch in the main which is another worry. I'm not sure putting a manager who had just suffered a relegation in charge of a squad with a fragile core was a good move he doesn't seem to instill any confidence into our play and appears to go negative and defensive very quickly in games.

I think we need to look at what the short aim is, obviously getting out of this league, I genuinely believe the owners think they can build a team capable of getting out of L1 that will be good enough with some additions to stay in the championship, I'm not sure it should be that over complicated, youth blended with L1 experience and some journeymen (without being unkind to them) is what's needed to get out of L1,Marc Roberts and Norwood being prime examples.
Wycombe have Scowen, McCleary, Vokes, Taffazoli, Wheeler and Sadlier all in there 30s but I suspect Wycombe are focused on the hear and now of getting out of this league and then taking stock.
We're at a point in time where we either want to be a development factory with a bloated squad or start clearing out some players that will never be good enough to get us up.

We harried them for the first 10 minutes and were on top then just gave up on the press and let them take over.

Yeah, he's a good last chance saloon option up front but id rather have him play in defence and do damage by going up for structured set plays.

We aren't very good simple as that. Players that are trying to play at a level above their ability all the time have lapses in concentration and make mistakes especially when fatigued.

That sums up L1. We’re miles off the pace, but still contained Wrexham easily enough and should have taken a point - which looking at their home form, would be decent tbf. Then we go and concede another sloppy goal…..

Yep all fair points. I did think the demography of the Wrexham team was quite interesting

I thought we deserved a draw tonight.

We have a group of players who as individuals cannot be relied upon to perform consistently on any given match day.

On their day, I reckon each first team player has the talent to be good enough to be part of a side that does as well as the last 2 seasons.

Tonight, only the goalie , Roberts and Jalo turned up at their best. Even then we were as good as Wrexham.

Anyway, without a proper box to box midfielder we're always starting with a massive handicap.

Team selection is another area I would criticise. Nwakali and Jalo should have started.
