DC said in his last interview that he wanted to clear out the squad, both loans and sales, as it is too big. He also wants to improve in certain positions. What most of us want, I presume.

Whatever you think of DC, I think he deserves the Jan transfer window so we can try and address some of the massive (obvious) gaps in the squad. No one could argue that he has the correct equipment at his disposal

The problem is that the money will not be there to sign the players people would like to see joining us.

Whatever happens in January, you can be sure that it won’t address all the clear issues we have.

I’d be pleasantly surprised if it sorted any of them.

What formation did we actually change to when we brought on pines and then took off gent? Was that the cause of the issue cos our midfield got overran in that last 10 mins once lofthouse came in had we changed to a back four then?

Connell could barely move mate. He was clearly far too injured to play the last ten minutes but they stood fannying around with Craig on the touchline for a good 5 minutes before deciding not to bother. Because they're thick.

Appreciate the insight from someone there. Don’t think I appreciate the explanation though. F*** me.

Don't forget we played Saturday and Wrexham had no game, understandably they had more energy than us later in the game

I think another observation last might was that Wrexham had less "legs" than us and still out worked us.
We constantly emark lack of pace throughout the team but yesterday playing dads army and still been out done in the engine room (midfield) was proper annoying.

Clarke hasn’t “got the January transfer window” That’s not how we operate at this Club. It’s the recruitment team who bring players in and…….the evidence is, the current occupiers of those roles aren’t very good.

TBF to Clarke, days after he was appointed he said, we clearly need to bring in 2/3 Strikers and give them a good pre season; we didn’t.

Then, 10 weeks into the job and just before the deadline he said we need to bring in a couple of strikers before the window closes. We didn’t.

    And here we are.

Pace bets bandied about a lot, and yes, our team isn't blessed with it. But how many teams have we come up against littered with pace? Not many.

I don't think the issue is pace. It's energy, drive and desire. Others can probably judge this better than I'm able, but how often are our players gasping for breath at the end of the game? How often does it feel like they've given everything? We stroll around for long periods of games. They are either so unfit that they aren't physically capable, or they are being coached to be passive, or they just can't be bothered. I'm not sure any of those things are acceptable.

I didn't see any of the regular season last year under Collins so I'm not able to judge. Was the football last season worse than this?

Under Collins we controlled posession much more but the build up was even more slow and laboured. It went sideways and backwards a lot - and i mean a lot. Collins was however capable of making substitutions which positively impacted games which is probably a product of two things - one having a better squad and two not being a div.

Redders on TalkSport said many times throughout the game that our midfield had been the better of the two.

    Opinions eh.

Imho our midfield was the better in football terms but we were out worked by a very dogged aging team.

Yet Clarke through our woeful run of form lacking wins and goals, has barely made a change to starting line ups.

So connell was injured and he went over to tell the team mid game? Then played the remaining minutes?
For me your either injured or not. Go down hold your head use some game management or stay in position and do your best.

Solid enough performance without ever looking dangerous going forward, Jalo's shot apart. I don't know how to change this before the January transfer window.

Not sure why Pines was brought on but to accommodate him we took off Gent, moved Earl to LWB and Roberts to left CH. Totally disrupted a solid back line that had held Wrexham out easily up to that point.
Why mend something that wasn't broken? Bonkers.....

I’m sure it’s not true but my first thought when Pines came on was that it was pandering to the American watching public that we heard about pre-match. Had Slonina been fit he might have been in there as well. Just to show the Yanks how cool we are playing their countrymen. Bound to be rubbish, I know, but maybe there was a marketing angle there somewhere

The guy is clueless, I remember taking off your centre half was about as rare as taking off you keeper, why? Because it causes a massive disruption in the most critical area of the game - if you are getting absolutely pummeled then changing the formation to include a CB change is fine, or taking of an individual who is just playing so bad its a liability to keep them on, then so be it. None of those scenarios applied in Tuesday, just f'in about for the sake of it because he wants to show hes in charge to "effect" the game, well he did that alright, he effected it from being a draw to being a loss.
