Thanks MrsH - Sad Brewer and thanks for those who 'Liked' my post. It's a massive achievement and a great step forward for Women's football in general and especially for the Women's game in Cymru. For the first time ever the Cymru will have a Women's Football team on the International Stage (Euros - Switzerland July 2025) Two excellent managers Rhian Wilkinson and Craig Bellamy - the Taffs are getting their act together!
Congrats to them. Just like in the men's game, I like as many home nations at the finals tournaments as possible.
REPORT | Ireland WNT 1-2 Cymru WNT Dec 3 2024 Above is taken from the Irish F.A. website - it seems they use the term Ireland (Women's National Team) rather than Eire and they're happy to use the term Cymru. The Welsh name for Ireland is Iwerddon and that is the word that would be used rather than Eire. ffs if I can still bang on about Cymru - there is a move from the Senedd for the place names that were Anglicized when the English tried ! to take the country over to be reverted to their original Welsh names. E.g. Snowdon is now to be known as Wyddfa. Matter of time before Cardiff reverts to Caerdydd - Wrexham to Wrecsam etc. It'll be passports at Offa's Dyke next! COYR v B'ham -- 2-2 12/1
I don't have a dog in the fight mate, happy to live and let live, but we get your Welsh mate without repeating not having a go I guess I'm just not the chest beating anthem singing patriotic type, definitely a case of English by birth Yorkshire by the grace of God
