Apparantly liverpool have one of the lowest % wise (if not lowest. Less than 50%) number of season ticket holders. They take a shed load of money by rest buying tickets each game. Copied Liverpool way off the pace A surprise exclusion from this list to some, especially given their stadium capacity of over 61,000, is Liverpool, who only allocate 27,000 of those seats to season ticket holders. However, this isn't because they can't sell more season tickets, in fact, they comfortably have at least the second-largest fanbase in the league. Instead, it is likely due to financial reasons. Fewer season tickets mean the Reds can sell more general admission tickets, which are more expensive for fans over the course of the season and, therefore, raise more capital.
Doesn’t affect most of their fans - just the small percentage (and away fans) that attend their games. You would hope that such pricing would have their fans in this area choosing to support our more needy local clubs, but they don’t go. They buy a shirt and watch on telly. Mad innit?
I know, imagine if they'd gone the whole hog and got a deputy prime minister in, with a talent in embezzlement, the ability to aid Russians avoid sanctions and a human rights record that makes Atilla the Hun look like Mary Poppins.
Against that more fans have a chance of getting a ticket to a game, rather than being forced out by season ticket holders, also a lot of people can’t afford or manage to save up for a season ticket.
TBH no, they could increase the number of season tickets available, I was just thinking at least it must be handy for some that at least they can at least get a ticket. The Prem in particular is definitely losing sight of what the average fan is and they just see them as a cash cow to milk.
