I think his second booking was due to Kieller-Dunn wimping out of yet another opportunity to get possession.
Probably been told he's off in the January window to balance the books. So thinks **** this I'll coast until January, he's even made sure he's got next week off to do a bit of Christmas shopping with his family.
His two challenges looked like he can't be bothered making the longest away trip of the season. I'd have him travel down and sit and watch.
Jesus wept these conspiracies. if he wasn't arsed why would he have given DKD a right bollocking? I think his effort was definitely there today. It's crazy you ask when the last time he scored or assisted was as though it's because hes off in Jan. Like I said before, it's the same pattern as previous 2 seasons. Yes he hasn't scored or assisted in a while, last assist being 3 games ago. But he's also our top goalscorer still this season, and has over 40 goals & assists in the last 2 and a bit seasons... from midfield. Let's not forget either how dour the football has been at times too. He's inconsistent and has brilliant purple patches - if he didn't, he wouldn't be in league one, certainly with those numbers. If anything, should be annoyed at DKD. Heart like a pea today. Anonymous too. Phillips had every right to give him ear ache.
I'd sell him in January too. I was pretty disgusted with his performance on Tuesday night at Wrexham. It seems like he's downed his tools a bit. Can have no complaints with the red card today.
Also got DKD who is exactly the same. Yet Phillips got sent off cos DKD backed out of a challenge. Fickle aren’t we cos had that shot of Phillips gone in he wouldn’t be getting all this criticism and we wonder why players can’t wait to leave us.
Don’t blame Phillips for that second tackle, misjudged yet but horribly let down by DKD and I’d rather him attempt a tackle and that be the result following a team mates shirked tackle, than also letting their player run through unchecked and score
DKD wimps out of at least a couple of challenges every game. It’s a bit worrying that we shelled out 90% of our budget on him. Has some talent but not involved or brave enough for me.
Problem is we have a few like that on the pitch I’m not sure why O keefe pretends to challenge in the air he loses every single one. Whoever is recruiting our wing backs needs to stop the last 3 have been woeful in cotter, o keefe and Gent (who unfortunately is still too much work in progress and is really poor when going forward)
He was bollocking DKD last week as well for his lack of effort; wouldn't blame him at all if he asks for a transfer.
I think O'Keeffe has produced some good moments going forward this season. He's shown a far greater willingness to take players on than he did under Collins.
Phillips is a great luxury player. If your midfield is outplaying the opposition then Phillips is brilliant to have hanging around in front of them doing very little but waiting for the opportunity to play a killer pass or hit a belter every couple of games. Sadly our midfield is extremely weak and is losing out every week so we can't carry a player like Phillips as we need all hands on deck. The choice is clear. You have to strengthen your midfield with quality or sacrifice the luxury of Phillips to strengthen it with numbers. The problem with the above is that we appear to have signed 54 carbon copies of Luca Connell (presumably as the resale value of players with that particular skillset is higher than the resale value of battlers who will get stuck in) and you can't flood a midfield with identikit players
I strongly disagree with your assessment of Gent. For a young lad, he times his tackles to perfection, he gets very involved going forward and when the ball gets switched to him, from distance, his first touch is sublime. In my opinion, he is one hell of a find.
Absolutely. Get that one a split second wrong and it’s red card and penalty. Yet he got it totally perfect.
