We've had a few music themed threads recently, figured it was time to see what the BBS likes when it comes to festive tunes. Do you prefer traditional carols? The likes of Sinatra crooning about Xmas? Slade, Mud and Wizzard's glam rock take on Xmas songs? I'll get the bank rolling with a few of my favourites: Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday Chris Rea - Driving Home For Christmas The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York John Lennon - Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
Driving Home for Christmas is my favourite. Also love “Must be Santa” by Bob Dylan and “Step into Christmas” - Elton John
Love traditional choir hymns and carols. Love the 1950s crooner classics, Sinatra, Cole and Crosby. Love the staple classics of the 70s onwards. More recently like a bit of mellow Xmas jazz. And if you want something jazzy, quirky, with a bit of tin pan alley thrown in then give Christmas Island by Leon Redbone a listen. Had it on repeat whilst doing my Xmas cakes the other week - felt very festive.
Last Christmas Little Drummer Boy All I want for Christmas is you Sleigh Ride 2000 miles Power of Love A Winter's Tale Stop the Cavalry
Original Band Aid Boney M - Mary's Boy Child. Wham - Last Christmas. Johnny Mathis - When a Child is Born. I can honestly say I know all the words, every verse, including the cheesy talkie bit.
Chris de Burgh - Spaceman came travelling Bing Crosby & Bowie - Little drummer boy Greg Lake - I believe in Father Christmas
