Jim Reeves and Perry Como were the soundtrack of spending time with my Grandad.

Saw them support Courteeners a couple of weeks since (your young ‘un went, I think) when they unveiled this song.
    I genuinely welled up.
It won’t go down as a classic, but is a cracking song and for a great cause.

I was asked, at work this week, to list my favourite three Xmas songs and this was exactly my answer.
The Bob Dylan one fell on deaf ears but I think it is a beaut.

My absolute favourite is Ho Ho Ho (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas) by Elton John.

It's the B-side to Step Into Christmas, and it feels extremely obvious that they were all completely hammered during the recording. Nothing more festive than that.

Wild, isn't it. Unfortunately it gets right into you (or, at least, got into me!) Can't have Christmas in my house now unless this has been on.

    No. No. And no again.

If you like that I can only suppose you’ve never tried to drive from London to Barnsley up the M1 on Christmas Eve.

“I take a look at the driver next to me… he’s just like me”

Oh yes, he is. He’s gripping the wheel and banging his head on the dash in sheer, mind numbing frustration at the endless, stationary ‘red lights all around.’
