We've just had a Greggs opened near us and i went in and asked about getting a bin I also emailed Greggs and got a reply and TWO bins outside the shop. It's not their fault disgusting people just throw it on the floor, Adults are sitting in the car park eating their food then throwing it on the floor - WHY ???? it's getting worse everywhere with litter/ rubbish, we weren't brought up like this and neither were my Children and Grandchildren. It's my pet hate and you can't say owt cos yer get 50 words for 1 or probably worse- rant over.
It was. It was next door to tom horsfield's (what was for many years Herbert Browns jewellers). There was also one on market hill where tabu is (formerly Pollyanna) though I'm not sure if they were there at the same time or not. The peel street one opened in 1960 and closed in the early 70s, the market hill one was definitely there in the 70s but not sure about the 60s
It’s going on the bit of car park adjacent to the Petrol Station that’s barely used - next to the unused bus only entrance and exit. The restaurant will back onto Wombwell Lane. It’s not going to be a drive-thru. Plans for a McDonald’s Drive Thru and Starbucks Drive Thru have also been submitted for the land behind Aldi at Goldthorpe.
Like Burger King - and I miss Wimpy; used to run one (sort of) when I was duty manager at Donny Super Bowl (been Tenpin for years now, the owner sold them all off [including Kimberworth though that stayed independent and is still I think superbowl and retains a wimpy in it] many moons ago). Quarter pounder on brown bread - the healthy option!
The same people at a guess as the one on peel street was "Tom Horsfield. floral artist and garden supplies"
I've seen that mentioned too but people are saying that others are just getting confused because the one on peel street was next door to the jewelers with the clock above the door and near the Ritz which is a similar description to where people seem to think they remember one on Eldon street next to Benjamin harrals with the clock just down from the odean
Must be the Mandela effect. I’ve done some digging through the Barnsley archives and it doesn’t look like there was ever one on Eldon street.
That's right - no excuse for slinging litter about. A relative works at the Tankersley McDonalds and periodically groups of employees will go litter picking on roads adjacent to McD's -
Might be getting a Wendy's soon as it's reported they're to be opening another 400 "restaurants" in the UK.
I am surprised Wimpy still exists, I think I've had one twice in my life and both times it was awful.
All these fast food ***** popping up everywhere 5 guys, Wendy's more burger Kings and macdonalds. You would have thought they would be trying to cut down on **** like this given obesity costs the nhs more money each year than smoking. I haven't eaten a burger King in years.
I often call at coffee shops because I’m out on the road & can get them on my expenses but there’s no way I would pay for them regularly like some do. It baffles me how often you get people socialising in these places at the prices they charge.
