The Chinese, that lot from down the road, The Scots? Is it different forms of football/Rugby? https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/edinburgh-world-first-football-team-b2662545.html
Aztecs, two teams would play some sort of contact sport with a ball [ probably somebodys head ] the loosing team's captain would be sacrificed to the gods.
An early match was mentioned in the 1647 diary of Adam Eyre, a gentleman and parliamentarian soldier of Hazelhead House, Thurlston. “April 4 - went to Bordhill to see a match being played at the foot-ball between Penistone and Thurlston; but the crowd hindered the sport, so that nothing could be done wee came home again.” Nowt changes…
It's probably a lot older than we think, albeit different forms and rules, but six a side Women's football was being played according to this article from The Ipswich Journal, October 1726.
British Empire. Anyone who voted Brexit knows this. Definitely invented by a white bloke from Britain. Football should be played by white blokes wearing stockings and knickerbockers whilst smoking pipes.
I was always of the belief football originated with 2 opposing villages trying to kick the ball to other village and whoever achieved it first won. I can't quite remember where the hell I got that from tbh
I believe that's correct. In fact I think Edward the Second complained about football because it interfered with longbow practice. I think that's right. Definitely a medieval phenomenon.
A chubby smelly bloke in the pub called Bob, from Sheffield lol. Yeah surely he invented it and is an expert as well, don't we all know somebody like that.
Aztecs used a rock for a ball, earliest known record of using a ball is believed to be Cuju in China just over 2000 years ago.
