I've done more than my fair share of travel this season but fair play to anyone going to this, you must have a heart like a lion.
What a fantastic away fans guide Exeter have provided. They seem like a really friendly club who actually welcome and want away supporters to enjoy themselves. A lot of clubs (and I don't necessarily mean ours) should take a leaf our of their book. Looking forward to spending the weekend down there.
Don’t think many who made the wasted trip for the late postponement a couple of years ago would’ve shared that opinion! I echo the other poster who says anyone going tomorrow must have the heart of a lion. Respect to you all.
Anyone who's bought a ticket since hearing of our injuries or plan to pay on the day at an increased price deserve an extra large dustbin lid size medal.
Seems like only yesterday I was on a train from Salisbury down there to see Glyn Riley get us a 1-0 win. Really enjoyable season that and I went to all the southern away matches like Plymouth, Pompey, Colchester etc. Happy time following a properly exciting team!
That would be the 80/81 season. I didn’t do Exeter but I was at both Plymouth and Pompey which we won 3-1 and 1-0 respectively. Glyn Riley got the winner at Pompey too.
Yes it was. That 3-1 at Plymouth was one of those games where everything came together and the result was never in doubt.
Brilliant run for that third goal and it must have been Ronnie’s easiest ever tap in. I think I was one of those standing apart from the tight group right behind the goal.
Me too. Seem to remember it setting off about half 6 in the morning and not getting back while about midnight.
Im going - its still a decent track from Farnham but a nice day out I've got a ticket but in 2 weeks the post office have failed to deliver it - fortunately Box office have arranged a replacement to collect at the ground quite pleased to see pay on the day is an option though just in case that's gone wrong. At least I can pay again to get in having travelled for 3 hours and argue later about a refund of the lost ticket if required- though none of that should be needed
Really felt for you that day - glad I couldnt go Tomorrow should be low risk of a repeat no frost and only showers overnight -and should be cold but sunny intervals tomorrow so game should be on
I didn’t go to this one but went on “Specials” many a time, wish they could bring it back where we could use them trains in games where we would take a good following......great days!
