Is this a post from July? In all seriousness though, good luck. Provided us with some incredible moments.
Good move for all tbf. I’ve said before - we all knew CH wasn’t the player he was, we’ve seen that every time he returned to Oakwell with other teams. Sounds like he’s a cracking coach though - and a great role model to the younger lads.
Anyone who bought a season ticket just because connor had signed needs their bumps feeling. Bear in mind most were bought in the early bird. It's been pretty obvious over the last few games against us he wasn't half the player he was when he left us. I'm not shocked, it's been obvious given the amount of midfielders we have fighting for places that he was unlikely to figure.
Amazing how quickly downhill someone can go from a first team regular during a promotion campaign, to this.
Exactly. I don’t understand the negativity either - cracking signing as a coach alone. He had other offers to coach elsewhere. For the first time in years, we’ve actually got a good team of coaches, who are young, hungry and linked to the area/club in general.
Likewise, if anyone doesn't believe that the re-signing of a club legend accompanied by an overly sentimental welcome home video and associated club marketing and the very clear message that he would transition to a coach in 2 years CONTRIBUTED to undecided people taking the plunge and buying a ticket then I believe it's them who needs their bumps feeling.
Very clever and savvy man is old Conor. He's done very little coaching but now got a assistant coaching job at a league one club. He might turn out to be a very good coach or he might be gash. This for me was set up on leaving us the nonsense of of I love the club blah blah blah when just like the rest he couldn't wait to get out. The clever bit was the way he did it, fair play to him it's worked out perfectly for him but if I was Clarke I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
Again. How do you know its Hourihane decision not to have been playing? Do you want the club to force Clarke into playing him? I thought he'd play more often but that was before Craig and Nwakali, and for me now he should be nowhere near first team anyway especially with Yoganathan coming through
Not enough is being said about the player he was for this football club. One of the greats if not the greatest to play for bfc in the 21st century. Next head coach?
A cracking signing as a coach based on what he's done a bit at Villa and us at u16s level. Look you may be right he maybe brilliant at it but it's just a guess he has no track record to base it on. The coaching offers elsewhere past me by I had seen rumours regarding playing at other clubs not not just coaching.
Absolute legend of a bloke. Uber professional. Very intelligent. And just a real driver of standards. Bonus that he was good at football and handsome as f***.
