Matt Bloomfield joined Wycombe from Colchester, with 28 games under his belt as a manager and a 32% win ratio. Just imagine the reaction, if we'd signed a manager with that pedigree after Neill Collins.
But 9th isn't league 2. There's a valid argument that we're not good enough for promotion. It may prove to be incorrect, we're not yet half way through the season and we're only a point outside the playoffs. We are very much in the mix so to speak. But we might not be there by the end of the season. Predicting we won't win promotion is definitely cup half full but is certainly grounded in reality. Predicting we're heading for League 2 is spectacularly pessimistic and pretty much fantasy. It's not outright impossible but it's not a realistic assessment of where we're at. We're a team who may or may not reach the playoffs. We're terrible at home but very decent away. We can look pretty good at times, really poor at times, and very average most often. We're just about exactly where we deserve to be.
A good chunk of my grounds still to visit are in league 2. Barrow, Harrogate, Newport, Bromley, AFC Wimbledon & Colchester. Every cloud and that…..
