Not a prayer. That's not a slight on DKD. And nothing would give me greater pleasure to see someone, who every time he had the ball. It would be normal to believe he would score. Nothing would have been more befitting than the song if it had been around at the time than. "Your defence is terrified cos Ronnie's on fire" far more than Winnall ever did.
Used to wait for net to ripple when Nardiello went clean through...until flag went up. Wish he'd played in F.A Cup Semi Final.
He/Nardy didn't put in half the effort that other players did then, as he was very lazy sometimes. Like the other strikers Marc Richards and Tommy Wright, for example. But he was a real goalscorer, and a very important one, especially in those relegation struggles.
True story, a linesman sued Nardiello for causing repetitive strain injury from raising his flag… I say true story… I have never known anyone be offside as much as he was. Most of the time too lazy to get back onside if the initial ball was delayed. He was a goalscorer though. Should have had a better career than he did.
Yeah Troff, that's what I also meant by lazy. He was very lazy minded and strayed offside a ridiculous amount of times. Was it him who also did the u-turn on the motorway (probably after talking with his agent), when he was on his way to sign at Oakwell. And he ended up going somewhere else, just like that!.
My favourite Reds player ever, but in terms of most gifted I'd have to hand that to Paddy McCourt. What a player ... what a waste of talent.
Without a doubt talented. But his goal ratio was poor for an out and out striker. 1 in 4. Although some of the ones he did were either important. Or against local rivals.
I think that those on here who never saw Ronnie play but could watch Ronnie play, they would never put him and DKD at the same level. I want DKD to really shine with us but I dont think his star will ever shine as brightly as The King's.
Wow, just wow. Comparing an average L1 player like DKD to Ronnie Glavin who could have carried on at Celtic and maybe got picked for Scotland again (unlikely I know) or could have walked into most first division teams at that time and played out his career at the top level? Can't believe I actually read the OP properly.
Had Ronnie's sports business not caught fire, for which he did time, I understand he was Liverpool's first pick over Kenny Dalglish. Ronnie was completely different gravy to DKD and no offence to the latter.
I didn’t,t compare him I said can he become as influential as him as him you not read it correctly cocker.
