Yeah, was a cracking signing to be fair - we all said it when he signed. Just not worked out.

He’ll go elsewhere and do well though. That’s just how to goes sometimes.

I'm sure he'll do well elsewhere. He's not really going to get game time with us, but not the lad's fault. Sure there will be other suitors for him. He needs to play. Signing for big clubs may be lucrative short term, but Premier League clubs just stockpile players. No way he starts over Nwakali, or Connell.

Too good for Doncaster or Mansfield.

Well he wasn't a cracking signing.

Otherwise he'd have been playing regularly for us and be part of our upward drive towards automatic promotion.

Which he was never going to be. Once we'd seen him play after a few games.

Too good for Mansfield? He can’t get in our team and they are a few places and five points behind us having played two games less. In the same league.

    Thats therefore very harsh!

I do think he’s too good for league two though I’ll give you that.

I agree. He was signed at a time when there may still have been doubts about Connels fitness following his long layoff but then as the year panned out and Nwakalis emergence the need for him required reassessment. If he goes back it is not because he is crap.

In other words he was inferior to Connell and Nwakali.

Which doesn't make him crap. But does not make him a cracking signing. At all.

Show me where in this thread a distinction has been drawn between loan or permanent.

Or indeed where such distinction determines whether it's going to be "cracking" or not.

Big 18 months coming up for him, as Spurs won't be giving him a new contract.

Dunno, they kept Winks and Skipp a lot longer than they should. They might see how he goes on and offer him a new contract and just keep loaning.

Not every signing works out - but he had done brilliant at Donny the year before, and is highly rated by many.

Ivan Toney another example where it just didn’t work at the time with us…..

Completely agree. Craig is a good player, and very early on he was immaculate to the point people on here were saying he'll be playing in premier league soon.
Shame it hasn't worked out, but like i said, with the quality we already have who are contracted to the club, it'd be silly to play him. Give him a run of games and he'll be terrific like he was for Donny, in my opinion ofcourse.

I’ll stick my neck on the line here, I don’t think he will play many games above league one level

If Craig goes back and we pick up a couple of injuries in midfield who comes in? Especially when there is talk of moving Benson on who has been so unlucky with his own fitness. Leaving us a little light in midfield.for the run in.
