"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State"

Did anyone actually think this would be possible though? I don't really know why he does it... Well I do, he has a huge ego and loves a hyperbolic statement. But if people who voted for him genuinely believed that, I have some magic beans to sell!

He is definitely not typical, and he has both houses and the justices. And if you recall last time, he pushed through executive orders to bypass votes in congress.

I think we’re better placed to expect the worst and hope it pans out a lot better.

Except Tariffs. Those are something he can just do by himself (and indeed Biden has with China).

So he could put tariffs in, then Congress block his attempts to change income tax and watch his rich mates buy up middle America for cents on the dollar.

On the Jeremy Vine show today there was a piece about Greenland. Apparently Donald Trump Jnr is visiting at the moment and his demented dad is talking about using the military to make the country a US state or some sort of dependency. Recently there has been a strong independence movement amongst the 58,000 Greenlanders due to Denmark not really being too bothered about them or summat. This plays straight into Trump's (ridiculously small) hands. If they remain a Danish dependency then he won't have the nerve to attack them as effectively a fellow NATO member but would be ripe for picking as a newly independent country. Greenland has huge natural reserves of minerals and oil - not practical to exploit just now but as these things get scarcer in the rest of the world, they will become economically exploitable - particularly as the ice cap melts.

    PEOPLE OF GREENLAND VOTE NO!!!
