    Callum was on SkySports News a few weeks ago with Mark Jeffers. It looks like Mark will be his next opponent if he wins this weekend in a title defense. Callum said he wants it to be in front of a packed Oakwell, but Jeffers said he wanted to challenge for the titles in Saudi Arabia.

    I can’t see the Saudi’s wanting Simpson - Jeffers, it feels like a proper British fight in front of a British crowd. I’m sure Jeffers would like some Saudi coin but I think he’s a tad optimistic.

    There is solid rumours of another Oakwell show over the summer against Padraig McCrory for some sort of title. I wouldn't mind seeing Callum Simpson v Luka Plantic either, would be a good fight for the European which Plantic holds currently but might be worth a few more quid down the line for both fighters.

    However, im looking forward to being there on Saturday and working press row for the first show of the year regardless.

    Correction: Plantic doesn't hold the European, my bad. That honour goes to Kevin Lele Sadjo

    I do fully agree with if Callum wants to go the traditional route. A lot of fighters/promoters are bypassing the European route due to cost of sanctioning fees required to pay to the EBU.

    He only turned 28 in October, two defences of his British title this year I reckon before moving on to European early next year

    Will be an emotional day for him and his family tomorrow, Sky/Boxxer did a great piece on their recent tragedy with them earlier in the week

    Simpson definitely fighting at oakwell in May, his promoter that Ben guy confirmed it on talksport yesterday on the Alan Brazil show.

    Really hope they open more than the east stand and the full town backs him. That poor family went from pure ecstasy to hell last year with what happened to Lily. The whole family comes across as proper good, honest and very likeable people.

    I urge anyone to watch the interview sky sports did with them regarding lilys death in the summer. Very emotional. His dad comes across a really top guy too.

    Would love to see it! Just trying to work out logistics of a full house mind. Ring in the centre, South stand, ponty end, east stand and the pitch for fans (ofc west stand isn’t upto scratch). Imagine mobile or static LED screens in front of west stand but then would only be viewable to 100% of east stand - having them anywhere else would obstruct the view of some fans. Hope it comes to fruition! Was fantastic last time round, imagine it with 2/2.5 or 3x as many people in!
