Who knows we might be in for him ,surely if we are ambitious and we want to make an impression on this league and the one above you have to be looking to sign hungry players like him.

 

I think we are and have been. I think buying DKD with his record was very ambitious considering the cost. Nwakali was certainly imo. Keeping Connell & Phillips is. When we got Russell, there was a big applause for him. Getting Roberts back for some experience and sturdiness has been, beating lots of clubs to sign Craig was. I think there would have been a few in for Humphrys too

I'd be shocked if we didn't atleast try it mate. I think we have been in for him before, I'd like to hope so anyway. Would have been a cracking signing imo.

 

My mistake at 1st thought he had gone on loan to Lincoln but looks like a permanent deal to Huddersfield. We won't be spending big this window we don't have the money I don't think and I think we will want to move some strikers on. Good signing for Huddersfield who if doesn't doesn't get them top 2 has failed again.

 

We have got some very good players who would shine in the league above all we are lacking is a clinal finisher like him who would make all the difference and launch us for the second half of the season.It remains to be seen.

 

Have we signed any foreign crap? I can think of Nwakali, but I don't think anyone is saying he's garbage... Pines/Mael, both probably currently League One quality, I can't remember any more foreign players we've signed since Neerav was chairman.

 

The last foreign garbage we spent money on was iseka and oulare and to some extent schmidt but that was when conman and Lee were in charge.

Why on earth Luton havent given him a crack is beyond me. Very good signing for Huddersfield. We wouldn't even have been able to pay that in championship! Crazy money but that's football these days.

 

3m wow for a player who can't get a kick for a struggling Luton. Look there might be many reasons he's not doing it at Luton but that's a massive risk for a player unproven beyond league 1. At that price I imagine he's on near championship wages so if they do go up he needs to score goals at championship level time will tell.

 

That's a lot of money for someone who's still relatively unproven at this level.

We simply can't compete with deals like that despite what some of our fan base thinks.

I would hope/expect there to be several add ons to get it to 3 million but even still it's a crazy fee for someone with half a season at L1 level. Albeit a good half season.

 

Wow 3 million paid over odds there. Isn't helik off to cov? So I expect they will get that and more for helik but big statement. Can see them and brum been top 2.

 

They have loads of chances every game, approx a dozen per game over the last handful of games and barely scored. They needed a goal score badly, but he himself will have the pressure of knowing that and his fee.

 

Pretty sure Helik is out of contract in summer so don't think they will get near 3 million for him but they should still get a decent bit if he goes

 

Probably, but even so, it's a chunk out of their improved finances if they do get promoted. Given he's been deemed surplus to requirements at a struggling Championship side, you'd imagine if Huddersfield went up, they'd be looking to replace/improve on him in the summer. Then again, they're still receiving £2.5 million a year for Karlan Grant who left them going on for 5 years ago, as far as I'm aware.
