Nearly half suggests that the initial fee is still at least £1.5 million, which is still too much for a player who has played less than 40 games at this level or above.

 

Still over 1.5 million would be miles more than we could afford like I say they'll sell helik and get more than that for him.

 

totally agree, I think some on here don't understand that we can't just MAKE players sign for Barnsley because we want them to.
I don't like it, but even if we could match Hudds on fee and wages why would he choose us over them?
His fee in relation to appearances/goals is a good indication of how difficult it is going to be to sign anyone with a solid track record in this window.

 

I'm sure we've got eyeballs on people, be patient, lets see what happens well chuffed with our last signing.

Teams overseas can get Helik on a pre contract now for nothing. Can't see anyone stumping up 3 million now when they can get him for nothing in a few months. Not saying they won't get anything for him, he's great. But they won't get 3 million when he's almost 30 and only got 6 months left.

Be interesting to see if any clubs abroad do offer him a pre contract, or whether Huddersfield will look to try squeeze some money out. On paper.. but footballs not played on paper. Many at the start fancied Rotherham to be up there. I hope Huddersfield and brum get top 2 as I don't want Wrexham to go up and I don't think Wycombe will be able to last up there.

 

I would settle for play offs now mate tbh so long as we are in reasonable form going into them, not like last season. Brum will pisss league and should do with their budget, think Hudds also will get top 2, good manager is Duff and looks like their board are backing him.

I don't recall having seen Joe Taylor, but I have checked his stats and seen he's scored 21 goals in 74 EFL games. Luton apparently didn't want him. What makes so many people think that he's so good?
