What idiots are running the game.I hate VAR with a passion but when i heard last night theirs no var till the fifth round i couldnt stop laughing.I thought it was brought in to get the correct decisions(thats a joke) so when it can it surely should be used in any competition and at any ground possible.Secondly these kick off times we are seeing this year.We and most clubs of our size have the same number of season tickets roughly every season. One might miss the odd game through circumstances but people now are unable to get to many games due to KO times changing during the season which will result in them not bothering getting a season ticket in the future and become armchair fans.P.S.Ill not bother going into hand ball rules, offside decisions, every tackles a foul, every fouls a booking.
6,000 at Bramhall Lane for a freezing Thursday night match in January against a team from South Wales. I'm sure there'd have been quite a few more on a normal Saturday afternoon kick off time. TV is killing the fan experience.
Football at non-league level is alive and kicking. It's only the "professional" game that's disappearing up its own arse.
Every new rule and different KO times only benefits the big 6 clubs and the the T V and betting companies
Wombwell Town and The Dearne are getting cracking attendances, l know some of the lads that go to all of our away games now attending these games home and away.
Not been down to Wombwell much this season but have the previous two - always enjoy it. Nice atmosphere and you can have a pint whilst watching. They've done some great work at the ground, just hope they can get promoted this again this year.
Cheapest matchday seats at Villa for an adult at a recent Premier League game were £72. If that’s the cost of Premier League football these days I’m out. I actually hope that the breakaway group p:ss off to their games in the Euro League and at least the game will have a reset - although I expect 20 years down the line we will just have a second tier of money grabbing clubs.
Let's not kid ourselves that this is only a PL problem. It isn't. The FL money grab has already started, with the latest Sky deal. It's only going one way now. Absolutely zero consideration given to the fans. Even Flatman said it himself: the money covers the potential drop in attendances. Big problem down the road if the Sky money dries out, and lower league Clubs realise they've alienated huge parts of their fan base.
Briggers Rec and Penny Church also doing well attendance wise. All five of our locals well worth a visit, but be careful - you'll probably get hooked!
I have no idea what sort of attendance figures the five mentioned clubs are attracting. Does anyone know rough figures?
You know something's wrong when Barnsley can get by in league 1 selling a core support of circa 7500 season tickets.
Our owners. More money than sense. Boo. Irrelevant they knew what they were getting into owning a football club. My point remains the same.
If you go to the Northern counties East league on the internet and click on Statistics and scroll down to Premier League and League 1 - all the attendance figures are there.
Wombwell Town regularly get over 500 at their games, they've refurbed the old stand and installed seating and this summer completed closing the ground in with fencing and removing the athletics track behind the goal. They already have floodlighting.
I appreciate he’s done a brilliant job but if I was a Brentford fan I’d be raging at Thomas Frank. They’ve got nothing to worry about in the league this season. No chance of going down & no chance of making Europe. Nothing to get excited about basically. Yet they were away at Newcastle in the league cup quarter final & he decided to rest their best players & subsequently got battered 3-0 & then today they’ve rested players for their home game against Plymouth & they’ve gone out 1-0. What’s it all about? Their seasons realistically over now & it’s of their own doing. They would have probably lost to Newcastle anyway but there’s no excuse for resting players today. They don’t even have a busy schedule.
For all the good job he’s done at Brentford he his a bit disrespectful to our leagues tbh, I seem to remember he was one who was against Cup replays a couple years ago, saying we play too much football. He has done well and is probably a good manager but not my cup o tea. Someone should remind him of where Brentford were not so long ago, before they got a wealthy owner. They operated a little like we did with the so called ‘Moneyball’, only difference was they had far more money than us, hence them being able to buy such as Watkins back in day when we were supposed to be interested
It is I've started watching Farnham Town if they are playing at home and we dont have a game. Isthmian league 4 tiers below the 2nd division £10 to get in Beer at £5 per pint and you can sup whilst watching the game and its a good watch - helped by the fact Farnham are top. Went to a game over Xmas and over 1000 in attendance. Standard is surprisingly good as well in fact more entertaining than quite a few league games Ive seen recently Additional benefit for me is I can walk to the ground Shame todays game was off due to a frozen pitch as well or Id have gone when our game got called off
