Will go ahead as planned as they’ve been knocked out of the FA Cup today - that weekend has the 4th round fixtures.

 

Good looking forward to it even though it's early ko on sky. I imagine ticket news will be out this week

 

Heard only get around 900.tickets for Stockport

 

Birmingham and Mansfield have been given the open end behind the goal the last 2 games, 1,200 or so. Still a crap allocation but better than the 900 along the side. Hopefully we push for the same.

 

Im sure we will. It’s like a local derby to us.

Not been since Boxing Day 1998, so I am due a second visit there.

I remember going to Stockport on a Friday night, when Allan Clarke was player/manager. We took 5000 for a 4th Division game and outnumbered the home fans. Unfortunately, the match ended in a pretty dull 0-0 draw.

 

Yes, that was my first visit too.

As with Tranmere, in hope of getting fans in who would go and see the bigger local clubs in Manchester and Liverpool on Saturdays.

I can't imagine anyone being able to afford a Football League and Premier League game in the same weekend these days. How times change.

 

Been to Stockport quite a bit over the years, but there’s one game I can’t recall, although I’ll definitely have been there. We lost 4-1 after apparently taking the lead through Rory Fallon.

Looking at the team, we had Sheron & Fallon up front. Mitch Ward, Betsy, Gary Jones and Gorre in midfield & Curle, Flynn, Gibbs and Mulligan in defence.

Must have erased it from my memory. Any team with half a defence consisting of Gibbs & Flynn must have been grim.

First time I went was a Boxing Day game. We won 1-0, DeZeeuw scored, it was freezing and I ended up with flu.

Must have been every time since, but can’t believe it’s 20 yrs since we last played there.

 

Remember being there when a lad I taught to drive got man o match and scored 2 Glyn Hurst ,sure we lost 4 1

 

We've had this conversation before, but the day we lost 4-1the ex Barnsley player Luke Beckett got two. Glyn Hurst never scored against us for Stockport, on account of the fact he was absolute babber.

 

My mate was in exec box and he fot man o match ,as he saw him presented with this ,I need to scroll bk and check scores in certain he scored ,he was that babba he played pro football ,what was your level

 

To be fair, loads of players are babber and still make it somehow to be a pro mate. Check the barnsley worst defenders for evidence
