It's not £500k a week it's miss reported and it's not just shirt sales, only NFL teams sell more PPV in the US than City I'd estimate most of that is down to the big man, the point in it all being the new global fan particularly kids now support players not clubs and City know on the back of that he'll push the global reach of the club, difficult to quantify the commercial revenue he's as big as there is right now and over 10 years...no brainier

Without any creative accounting and bonuses that's approx £12m after tax.

    What a joke.

This all day long, plus the increase in TV subscriptions and they wonder why dodgy sticks are rife.
Couldn't agree more with this post

£15 adult £5 child was the prices for City v Salford. I've watched 3 Champions League games this season for between £30-£35. City also put on free bus transport for season ticket holders around Manchester. They're building a large safe standing section to try and keep the prices down. I get the point you're making but not all clubs are he'll bent on making the match attending fans pay. Jim Ratcliffe however.....anyone see the mice on the pitch last night?

Hang on. So people in USA are paying to watch man city just because of haaland? Nowt to do with the 16 trophies they'd won in the 10 years prior to him signing then or the fact that man city own a major club in America?

How sport in US is marketed is really focused on the player that is considered MVP don't get me wrong City have worked hard to build the club in the US main point being the PPV market over there is huge hence why the Yank owners of the Prem clubs want to cut their own TV deals.

And what if somebody like Joey Barton was still a player, and he decided to 'take out' Haaland.
A massive contract and all that money, but then in the treatment room for over a year!.
Its an expensive risk to take.

I get that and I know you are seeing my point, but for each man city there are others less and more expensive.
Fulham cheapest £50. Dearest in the new Riverside stand £160. The working man is being priced out in such cases.

Hence the insurance bill mate. Most sports people or clubs take out insurance for injuries.

You've missed the actual reason why city have been struggling (and same last season when he was injured), Rodri being unavailable. All the rest you mentioned are replaceable.

For some reason that slipped my mind. Don’t think KDB is replaceable though.

Should've just married Dale Vince. £43m his ex has got in the divorce and she probably isn't even all that good at football. Mind, you'd have to eat vegan.

If he's insured against a quarter of a billion earnings, getting a career ending injury might not seem such a bad outcome for him. That in itself is a concern. "Throw a can of cola darn it. HTH"

Each one of these announcements is a nail in the coffin of football. I'd be embarrassed to have to announce it to people doing it tough.

"Hey you. Yes, you over there. You on minimum wages and a zero hour contract. You who missed paying your electricity bill last month and have to have a credit metre installed, costing you even more. See this man who plays games for a living? He gets paid more in a couple of hours than you'll be paid in your life."

    Life is great.
