Thought it was a strange move to Huddersfield, even stranger to Oxford. I always thought he was better than both those clubs.
Championship TV money makes it a lot more lucrative with wages. Seems he had an agreement if an higher league side came in for him. I wonder who the league 1 side interested in him was. Maybe us before deciding on Roberts as the former CB to bring back.
He obviously isn’t mate, or else someone higher up leagues would have made a move, sure someone would if they deemed him good enough. I liked him but he was always suspect in a run race. Good luck to him at Oxford
Whatever it was, Oxford came out top. If so called better sides were in for him then they didn’t value him as much as Oxford in either fee or personal terms.
Not all about the weekly wage, he's got a young family, imagine Sunderland coming in for you with an extra few k a week, they can keep it - I'd have to live there.
Out of contract in the summer which I didn't realise but my town supporting mate reckons they've taken what they can for him as otherwise he'd have left for nothing at the end of his contract.
I’m surprised Oxford are in a position to offer him at least the wages Huddersfield have had him on. I’d expect him to be back in league one shortly & for Huddersfield to be back in the championship.
Oxford won't go down. There's worse teams in that division than them and they've made a good habit of picking up points regularly at home against the sides around them in the table.
You reckon? I don’t follow the league as closely as I did when we were in it but there’s a few sides down there who I’d have as better teams.
On paper maybe, but I don't see sides like Cardiff, Plymouth and Portsmouth improving enough for Oxford to be dragged back in. A couple of the sides just above them are patchy at best as well. I think they'll finish around where they are now.
Cardiff beating Swansea 3 nil atm. Hull winning 1 nil too. Tough game for Oxford today at home to Blackburn. Oxford will be in the relegation battle.
I don’t know where I’ve been for the last month or so. I genuinely thought Oxford were right in the relegation mix, I didn’t realise they’d had a few good results & pulled away. Looks like you’re right with another good home win today.
True. Nice area of the UK to live tbh, with good transport links etc. Can see why he’d make the move.
