Well that was a strange game really. Despite letting 3 in we should still have won the game relatively easily by 2 or 3. Anyway O’Keefe for me.
Despite the poor goals we conceded I thought Josh Earl looked good, composed on the ball and solid at the back - which with Gent and then Farrugia outside him was decent going. Nobody was special though it has to be said.
Some woeful performances yesterday. The only players who I could seriously consider are my mate O'Keeffe and Earl. However, I can't give it to O'Keeffe because, not only is he O'Keeffe, but - despite some forceful running - he was wasteful in possession on numerous occasions which ultimately added to yesterday's frustration. Therefore, the default winner is Earl for being the only player who was able to get the white round thing into the rectangular netty thing at the end of the pitch. The rest were pure mince though some were significantly mincer with probably our captain unfantastic leading that honour despite his impressive pointing skills.
I thought DKD had a good first half and would’ve been in with a shout if he’d play more minutes but don’t feel like I can give it to him. O’Keeffe was good going forward but I don’t think fancied doing any defending. Numerous times they were breaking down our right and O’Keeffe wasn’t even in the camera shot. Earl for me. Looked composed, wasn’t over exposed and took his goal well.
Twice as many voted for Watters! And if it wasn’t for Watters’ high quality (ahem) finishing, as ‘gash’ as you imply Phillips was, he’d have had yet another goal contribution. But then all he ever contributes is goals and assists…
should have had at least 2 assists but for Watters and Russl missing and I thought his all round game was decent. I can see why people voted for OKeefe and Earl and even Watters but Phillips had a good game. It was switching off in defence and missing good chances that cost us the game, neither of which were down to Phillips unless you count setting up the chances that we missed
