Took them from a struggling league 2 side, to a league one promotion candidate. Had a couple of close misses. Won them a Wembley trophy. 50 percent win rate. What he's like as a person....But his achievements can't be overlooked. Talk about his budget is all guess work. Nobody knows. We aren't on the Bolton board and transfer fees are all undisclosed nowadays. He made decent Football players of a couple of guys who were useless with us.
Just based on Transfermarket website , shows only Schon at 940k rest free or ? not always 100% accurate but should give an indicator.
Well, it shows how much I know. I’m genuinely surprised they’ve pulled the trigger. And I say that as someone who found him unpleasant to be around when we came up against them over the last few years. But that’s the thing isn’t it. We are merely outsiders looking in. I’m sure most outsiders saw our dismissal of Neill last year as mental. I did myself..
They were Evatt's own words in the Bolton Chronicle....perhaps he didn't get the players, but that's what he had available to pay. They pay big wages too for free transfers, apparently Scott Arfield is on £13k pw.
Don’t doubt he said it. Surprised at the wages TBH but I’m not an expert on their finances so could be true. Point I was trying to make was some where suggesting he has had a huge budget compared to others which there is nothing to suggest that it is anymore than others in the top 10.
The Bolton local news reported that they paid 1.2m for mcatee. how’s your first day of unemployment Ian?
Got a link this local paper clearly says undisclosed?? https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24509056.john-mcatees-first-words-joining-bolton-wanderers/
£1.2 million doesn't sound unreasonable, considering Evatt said he had made several million plus bids...to get him they had to outbid Portsmouth (definitely) and Derby, Blackburn & Millwall ( allegedly).
Maybe but can’t see it for a player with his limited experience/record. Rated at £300k on Transfer mkt though. Seen the article you spoke of and it seemed to be referring to players in Euros/Europe.
MacAnthony recently said that Peterborough wouldn’t get a fortune for Randall but would make back what they’d paid for him and his wages. Think he said £1.2m
This is from their accounts, presuming they are paying in instalments Transfer and agent fees paid out by the club since the last reporting period (June 30, 2023) total £1.032m, including the signing of Victor Adeboyejo, Randell Williams, Cameron Jerome and loanees Shola Shoretire, Luke Mbete and Dan Nlundulu – who made his move from Southampton permanent in the summer.
I think you might be getting mixed up mate. I’m Talking about Leon Randall, who they signed from Posh in this window.
I can't say that I feel sorry for him. And although it shouldnt be all about money, he'll be laughing on his way to the bank now. And he will get hired again by somebody in Lg One, soon.
Reasonable for a striker on the books of a team league above and played well in a Play Off team last year. Folk here saying they want £5m for Phillips...
They won't be the full transfer fees for those players though. Just any up front payments and future payments in future accounts.
