I get that. Would have done similar but Labour are a shoe-in where I live. So I was able to vote with my heart (Green). And they came second.
I find it amusing that everyone has just ignored the drivel you've posted in this thread. And yes, I realised that replying means I've gone against this.
For the responsibility, stress and sadly now risk, I think higher salaries are merited. But that would need to be coupled with serious reform, preventing second jobs and the waste incurred through personal procurement and no doubt a whole array of expenses that in most corporate entities wouldn’t be allowed. There will be people who are talented who might fancy doing it but don’t want to take a significant pay cut.
I'm not a fan of linking to twitter but I think this is a wonderfully ironic use of Elon Hitlers platform
It's scary Americans would have voted for a obviously unwell man who unbelievably called president zelenksi president putin. I know he pulled out of the race and rightly so.
The people behind led by donkeys should be knighted. No doubt that account will be banned shortly by the ketamine king.

I absolutely agree, particularly the second jobs bit (or 3rd, 4th and 5th jobs in the case of Farage). In addition there should be rules about minimum attendance in Parliament (maybe something like 8 to 10 days per month and at least one day a week) and also about constituency work. If they're not in Westminster they should be in Clacton or wherever. Unless they are away on officially sanctioned business, no running off to the USA to kiss Trump's arse every 5 minutes.
I want to see published KPIs, of days in Parliament, constituency surgeries, caseload, caseload completed, etc., so we can see that an MP is doing a good - or bad - job and vote accordingly.
Linking to a man who was 'cancelled' for making jokes about rape and homeless people isn't a good look.
At no point on this thread did I defend Trump or say I liked him. I just questioned all the bed wetting and scaremongering.
Agreed. They should also have some form of regular appraisal meeting before a committee of laymen like the rest of us have with our bosses (thankfully I'm retired now so I don't have that awful annual experience). Edit - I'd gladly volunteer to be a committee member for my MP's appraisal. The only exceptions to the ban on outside jobs would be like doctors or barristers (or gas-safe plumbers ) etc where continued practice is required to maintain qualifications.
To be fair, I don't think it's bedwetting or scaremongering to say that the world will be a more dangerous place with this lunatic in charge across the pond.
So far through words and orders, he's attacked migrants, settled children, trans people, a female Bishop, China, Canada, NATO members, Mexico, called a national emergency, sent the military to the Mexico border, pulled out of the WHO, pulled out of the Paris Accord, committed to increasing levels of carbon and methane through enhanced oil production, shut down the health department preventing scientists from having meetings and doing research. Threatened Greenland and Panama. And actually, much more than I just can't be arsed to type. So yes, no evidence whatsoever he's a danger to society and the planet we live... Well, only if you're a would be fascist with leanings to the hard right and beyond.
