I've had a good read of the BBS today and whether its because I'm part of the seen it done it and bought the T-shirt brigade I find some of the comments way over the top.
Maybe I simplify things too much but in real terms we've played 27 games won 12 drawn 6 and lost 9.To my maths that means we've had 18 positive results out of 27.Our goal scoring is comparable with most of the top 6 while the goals against less so.
Over a season I 'd like to be top 2 but I don't demand it because that would be silly.
I'm more than happy to see where this season takes us and on the evidence so far we'll be in the top 6.
One thing I don't understand is those who criticise the recruitment when we lose don't praise the recruitment when we win, just a thought.

The criticism of the recruitment is probably because even when we win, we are usually bloody awful. And the flaws in this squad could hardly be said to be a recent phenomenon.

I was going to post something similar last night. I came to the conclusion that maybe it’s an age thing. Maybe I’ve just stopped letting things like yesterday from bothering me, because I know there will be worse occasions and I know we will come good at some point - just like every other club.

Last night I just turned off social media, had a curry and watched a tv programme about James Taylor and Carole King.

I’d certainly recommend an approach like that to anyone who lets football results spoil their weekends. *James Taylor / Carole King programmes are optional.

That's just not true. We were absolutely superb at Bolton, Peterborough, first half against Wrexham, home to Rotherham and even pretty good at Bristol Rovers. We've been very inconsistent and the bad performances have been horrendous - but when we've been good we've been a joy to watch at times.

I mean that's not entirely true. A draw isn't always a postive result.

I wouldn't call the 2-2 vs Northampton at home a positive result considering we were 2 up for example

I posted something similar during our good run at Christmas. Yes, we were doing incredibly well at the time, but it was inevitable that we would have a few rough results - and let's be patient and not demand for sackings etc.

Nice to see there wasn't much knee jerking yesterday. Oh wait.

I get what you say but surely even the most optimistic have to question the striking options we’ve ended up with. We had 4 efforts (yes 4) at goal against Stevenage at home. We had one deflected effort on target in 96 minutes. That’s truly abysmal at any level.
There’s a whole clutch of sides hovering very close below us in the table, most in good form too. If we don’t sign a couple of players to change things I just don’t see how even the most optimistic on here can believe we’ll actually make the top 6.

You do know we're in the third tier? Top six should therefore be absolute minimum expectation.

That’s literally all though this season, 3 and a half games in over half a season is pathetic at any level, I’m discounting the Bristol Rovers game because it was that frustrating.

A fair few fans of any club, I'd say, have more rights to be able to run a football club than any businessman with a hobby. Someone who's been home and away for the last 30-40 years obviously has more in depth knowledge of how a club should be run compared to, say, an American investor with a few million in the bank. I think German football does it the right way

The realists usually attend the games. The overly pessimistic/ happy clappers don’t.

we are a poor side. Yesterday and Orient are in my top 5 worst ever games in terms of the quality of the ‘entertainment’.

the recruitment is criticised because it’s been appalling. We have had 18 months to replace 2 strikers and have replaced none.

We have had about 3 good games. Let’s not sugar coat it. We have been virtually unwatchable in about 5 and the rest just absolute meh to the power meh.

I do attend matches,.I think i've missed about 10 home games in 59 years and that was due to illness.

I'm not bothered about yesterdays result, it's just a blip.

However, I am massively concerned that we are becoming an 'established' League One club. I think this season is our last consistent shot at getting out of this division before apathy sets in at the fans and board level. We'll be "cutting our cloth accordingly" quite soon.

I just try and keep a bit of perspective and try to enjoy the ride, granted it’s harder on days like yesterday and I completely get why people were so frustrated. We’re in the mix for the top 6 and the season could easily go either way. Whatever happens I’d like to see a bit of stability with Clarke and Mladen. It would be good to come out of the summer with the same manager as the one we had going into it, it’ll probably help us maximise our summer recruitment too.

Watched match while George was on his iPad. Once we'd lost turned it off and put Minecraft back on YouTube. Didn't ruin my weekend in the slightest.

Personally I think its pure frustration, I think we have played really well at times( and said so) and won despite the recruitment, we just have so may similar players that offer no variety, because with a decent striker and a bit of pace we would be doing so much better

I often think the be thankful with what you have brigade are to the detriment of the club. Cryne thrived on it. That isn't the issue here though. It's the over reaction by some fans. Myself included at times. That's reason I don't post as much myself. I'm particularly fond of posting crap straight after matches or a skin full.

Spot on. Wish I'd seen your post earlier. You worded it more eloquently.

I don’t put you in either of the camps I mentioned. Though if you were happy with the home games you seem this season I do wonder about your analytical skills
