Matchday megathread, Wycombe Wanderers v Barnsley

Imho...played well first 12 to 15 mins then it was like watching kids running around.
Can't believe we haven't conceded in that half....we look woeful at the back.
Killip keeping us in it.....we just cant defend those long balls.
Hope we get on it more 2nd half but I can see more of the same...unless the make some horrible error...not a good watch.

He’s been awful pretty much every time he’s played this season. He will end up costing us.

And I’m not excusing Roberts. He’s been bobbins as well since coming back into the team.

 

What an absolutely surreal first half.

It's like one of those pre-season games with 6 new signings and 5 trialists. Where nobody knows if it's full EFL rules or full contact allowed. And rolling subs, and the officials are from the local schools League.

I half expect us to come out in bibs 2nd half, with 11 changes.

 

Well that was painful. Soft all over the pitch, can’t string two passes together (as per). Instinct is just to kick it anywhere - Earl is going to get caught out, O'Keefe is spineless putting any block in as is Grnt. Same old same old with ball over centre halves - time for 4-4-2 or 4-5-1

 

Decent first 15 minutes but bloody awful for the rest of half against a good Wycombe side , we need some composure out there so get Nwakali on before it’s too late.

Pines with an absolute disasterclass. I’ve seen Gent and Watters name on the teamsheet. When they due to turn up? Completely MIA. Killip is yet to find….the green bit in the middle when he’s kicking the ball. And so on and so on.

They are battering us how we are winning this game of football I've no idea. All the back3 look like they have never played football before not sure what he can do can't pull all three.

I'm relieved we're still winning (just) but I'd be absolutely seething if I were a Wycombe supporter, they've battered us to thankfully no avail so far. Killip has been superb. Roberts and Pines are absolute bomb scares, and everyone else in red may as well not be there as they're second to nearly every loose ball - the few times we've had possession it's been given away aimlessly straightaway.

We're winning away at 2nd in the table and haven't conceded, what's not to like.

 

Whoever assembled this team needs to be totally removed from any further recruiting duties

 

Surely only a matter of time before we concede. Killip is only one to come out of that half with any credit. Made some good saves.

 

Certainly doesn't look like two top teams in League 1. Very poor League.

 

To do better we could try playing with 11 men instead of 5.

Thank goodness it's half time! How we are still in the lead defies belief. We look vulnerable from the direct ball over the top every time with feeble defending. Up front the forwards are totally inept and Watters might as well have stayed on the bus.
