I agree. As **** as it’s been, it wouldn’t make sense to sack him.

He wasn't great at the start of the season, I genuinely think that the bigger lads such as him and Pines need a run of games to get up to speed.

98 minutes and one good pass, that's awesome mate, MOTM performance.

We have found diamonds and then replaced on the cheap expecting it to work again. The board seem scared to speculate to accumulate but if they have that much faith in this whole recruitment process what is holding them back?

This 'managed decline' argument baffles me completely. It's the 2025 version of 'they don't want to go up', isn't it? They've literally put over £10m into the Club. Not loans. Whether people want to accept that or not, it's true. Why on earth would they deliberately manage an asset into decline, that they have sunk that kind of money into? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Negligence - bad judgment - lack of ability - all those are explainable. But 'managed decline' - makes no sense.

Silly tackle but looked like he won the ball, I can't keep up with the rules these days :)

I just think he's probably still throwing cups about. I thought sacking Collins when they did was a terrible decision, and I think sacking Clarke now would be as well.

Don't get this no money stuff.

All clubs lose money, that's football. We got 12 million in sales last summer, yet seen basically nothing invested in signings.

Recruitment is shocking. Too many lower league punts that we end up stuck with that aren't good enough rather than going for quality.

Wycombe have spent circa 2 million this window according to reports. No major sales, far smaller attendances etc. yet we can't invest cos we're skint.

We aren't asking for em to do a Birmingham and spend tens of millions, just invest more than a few freebies and cheap loans.

Bar DKD, where have we seen investment since relegation? It's all cheap loans and frees

I think some of the money was to plug the holes chien and his mate created. The recruitment of defenders attackers and head coaches needs some serious looking at because it's been shocking since Duff.

Probably skint, we'd have signed players in this window if we weren't, let's see what this week brings mate.

Did you watch Donovan Pines tonight? Yes McCarthy gave the ball away - it led to a goal because Josh Earl made no attempt to stop the cross and because Pines is unable to grasp the basics of defending like staying with your man and attacking a cross.

He didn’t cover himself in glory but if you think Pines is a better option then I have no words.

Luckily for us given Roberts will get a three match ban (it won’t be overturned, we barely ever even appeal), they will both play Saturday…

    Unless we sign someone.

So like I say, they’ll both play Saturday!

To be totally transparent, I agreed with the Collins sacking. But Clarke being sacked now? No way on Earth.

If they did that, then that would be me done with BFC until the board left. Sacking Clarke when everyone knows the squad is TERRIBLE would be them attempting to shift blame and focus.

Is Clarke perfect? Nope. His tactics aren't the best and his in-game management is suspect. HOWEVER, look at the squad he has to use! He can't swap formations around as we're awash in certain positions and totally bare in others. That's on the DOF and Board. Maybe if he had a decent SQUAD and not the odd 2 or three that are decent, I'd look more closely at Clarke. As it is, this is 100% on the Board imo.

Who was it who was sent on up front away at Blues a few years back in a similar SiGn a StRiKeR era? Definitely a defender.

We’re skint because we are soft when it comes to negotiations. We should have a set value for a player and accept at least 75% upfront and then rest in instalments. Our current business module is back firing

Well again, that’s because we have no squad depth.

And I’m generally for subs, what I was pointing out with my post, is that he makes them and they don’t work, so why would that be different today?

The first thing I would have changed today was the shape, before the personnel.

My complaint is that he did neither change shape or personnel. That's exactly my point. He did absolutely nothing despite us clearly getting over run.

He sat there like the rest of us waiting for the inevitable to happen which it did.

I said exactly the same to @Chef Tyke at the beginning of the season. Our central midfield area is an abyss. The tactical understanding of how to keep shape in midfield is probably the biggest issue. Huge gaps. We don’t move up and down the field in banks, we also play far too deep as the Centre halves don’t squeeze up fast enough, and that’s because there’s zero pace and they’re worried about getting hit over the top.

The distance from front to back is catastrophically sh it.
