Agreed mate. Shot stopping and dealing with those dangerous deliveries he was outstanding. Did frustrate me not coming off his line for the ball over the top though. But he was comfortable the best player we had on the night.
Yeah you are right I think mate. He clearly set up to defend, until we scored we looked brilliant too. But after that it was all them and they did deserve the win. Now I’ve settled I do agree it was poor tactics though. I believe Watters went off at 1-0 (put a right shift in tbf to lad) and he made a defensive change. So frustrating sitting back.
How is that Clarke's fault though, and why do fans keep saying that Hourihane is the answer, give it to him etc.
Do you now that for a fact...or is it just childish bull××it in your own mind?...obviously if you've got your UEFA coaching qualifications people should take note.
Pep won the premier league last season with his team, Clarke got relegated with his so Pep probably gets a couple of games more than Clarke
Does conner not have a say in the dressing room?if he does he's not doing much.id have disco before conner, had av disco before conner anyway,if conner did well he'd be off like a shot, disco said he wouldn't want the job because of security but he'd take it,with security of still having a job and had trust him more than conner.just saying.
Very much this, but at least he gets his evening of attention seeking in, no doubt he'll be waiting in the wings at 5.55pm on Saturday, wonder if he actually attends games and sits there typing stuff on his phone such is the speed of bait dropping rants.
Not saying the squad is amazing, but I do not think it is overall, not as woeful as people make out. We also have a squad man for man better than some teams above us in the league and ours has cost far more to assemble than others above us and others that have comfortably beat us. Do you honestly think Stevenage have a better overall side that us? Cos I don't. The difference is they showed up to Oakwell very well organised, with a clear game plan and executed that brilliantly. Our lot look utterly clueless each time they cross the white line, no one knows who is going to be in each week as its constantly being chopped and changed for no reason. Collinsball was dull and boring and I do not want to go back to that under any circumstances, but at least I could see what he was aiming to do. He also had a far far worse defence to work with that Clarke has. He was stuck with our best RWB at CB, McCart and two kids from non league for the majority of the season......... I honestly have no idea what Clarke is wanting to do. He talked in the summer about high intensity, setting pressing traps. Being on the front foot etc. Where is that? We never really see that. I have tried to give time but he is out of his depth sadly. The biggest issue here by far is the board. We all know that, but getting rid of those is a long and difficult process and requires someone with deep pockets to want to buy us. But that does not mean Clarke and his staff can be allowed a free pass to keep underperforming which for me we are.
I think Clarke just doesn't listen to any of his coaches he wants to do it his way, which unfortunately is the wrong way
Is Clarke a tactical genius no but he can't be held responsible for his senior player making a stupid rash challenge on the touchline or Earl shanking one wide when in the middle of the goal 3yrds out or our goal scoring midfielder missing 1yrd out on the back post. I must admit I'm not sure why didn't pull Pines pre sending off he looked like a accident waiting to happen all night but only a little bit worse than two centre half's. I still feel has the dressing room strangely we were better when we went down to 10 men so that shows they are still trying.
Sorry my opinion but watched it and watched and it wasn't a sending off, not even a yellow. The ref seemed delayed in his action I think he reacted to the home crowd
