I think you’ve told the club? That’s all you can do.

Spot on
A law that's often ignored and wouldn't result in a serious attempt at prosecution anyway. If you're that outraged you can report them yourself to Barnsley Council.

Out of interest, if the board, who are putting millions of their own money in every year, sell to someone who doesn’t put millions of their own money in every year, what then?
I mean, for the first year, easy, sell every player who is worth anything, replace with kids from the Academy, and then close the Academy. What do we do in the second year? I guess, sell the car park and all the training facilities, and every player we get offered anything for and sign anybody prepared to play for nothing. Then what? Presumably we only sell a few dozen season tickets by this stage. I guess that’s it really, we’re finished. Or do you have any ideas?

People do seem to forget that any new prospective owners would have to fork out millions and millions for us to even maintain a relatively ok run at league one play offs...

Stop being a pedant. We wouldn't be in this mess without the penny pinching fools. Merely keeping their investment ticking over until someone pops their clogs in the covenant and they can share the money and land with the Labour council.

Isn't it called the 'broken window' theory or some such? Where the little things are ignored and not fixed, then things gradually spiral and get worse and before you know it Oakwell is run by crackheads.

Sadly, I really cant see anyone wanting to buy and invest the money that would be required to turn this club around.
The first season of the decline was an absolutely embarrassing relegation under Conway/Lee where a couple of players were signed on ridiculous money and never played, one of those is still here. The lack of transfer activity is frustrating this window, they clearly need to get business done otherwise we won’t be fighting for the top 6. Personally I don’t feel like this is sack the board bad, everybody would like to think we’d get a generous billionaire but there’s every chance you get Conway/Lee v2.

Disagree.
The First sign of decline was when Khaled said we'd had a bad season because we hadn't had any bids for our players - even though we'd had our 4th best season in history finishing 5th in the Championship. And even though he later admitted later that we actually had received bids for players.
Since that season, we decided to change the way we play and that started a slow decline that we haven't reached the bottom of yet - albeit with a few spikes of success (depending on your definition).

We have to accept this board will make the decisions going forwards. We have no choice, they own the club and there appears no viable alternative. I havent been inspired by their decisions or communication so far let alone ambition and vision. So we all need to reset expectations as there has been a steady decline of our ability to compete on the field, our ability to develop the club / ground and ability to retain the old and attract more new fans. It is what it is.

The sad reality is the fans have little control as to who owns the club or what they do with it. The seeming strategy for clubs the last 15-20 years has been to get someone willing to throw away large amounts of their fortune in the hope it clicks and they go up the ladder, and when the musjc stops, hope another comes along before they get placed in admin.
I'd suspect our current owners aren't enjoying it, ploughing millions of their own money to get worse each year. It seems James Cryne has nothing to do with recruitment anymore and we've two owners from overseas that don't really know what they are doing despite spending a small fortune to be in a position to run it.
There's little evidence that they have an idea of how to turn it around and next years revenue is likely to be well down.
I don't envy them, but they have got themselves in this mess and they need to get themselves out of it. If they sell, they'll make a big loss and we'll be at the whims of another wealthy owner playing an ego trip and folly. We might be lucky, we might not be. Who knows.

I think we got relegated the season after that play off campaign which is what I’m saying. I remember hearing that and thinking it was bad news, was under Lee/Conway though?
