I thought Ben killip once again had a great game last night making a number of saves to keep us in the game. But we don't make it easy for him do we? The amount of crosses we let go into the box more or less unchallenged or not closed down is shocking last night Saturday and most of the season, opposition getting the ball in midfield and more or less been encouraged to shoot as our midfielders don't close the distance or don't do it fast enough, defenders letting the ball bounce instead of just putting a head to it. No wonder killip has so much to do every week and we concede so many.
Killip looks better than he is because of the extra work. He'd concede more goals if he was stood idle.
We've regressed massively. It's not just the basics we're messing up, it's the naive decisions letting the referee be played by the opposition
I don't always buy into the referee thing blaming them. We can't control what a ref does the decisions he makes but we can the ***** football we play. I thought it was a soft pen but he gets goal side of pines too easy then it all gets abit messy, and the red was stupid both feet leave the ground and go over the ball plus the player was going no where, that won't get overturned.
In this country, the first thing you're taught as a defender is to not let the ball bounce. This is obviously not coached in the USA and Donovan Pines did it at least 6 times last night.
I was watching with the Wycombe commentary and they pointed it out every time he did it cause they thought it was unusual
Alot of the players are half arsed alot of the time unless it's a big game, take earl for example at the end, didn't really exert himself did he to stop the cross going in, we have signed alot of dross in my opinion.
People always look to blame the marker which is understandable pines last night and robbo the previous 2 getting stick for his marker heading home. But **** me were so weak at stopping the crosses coming in it's almost inevitable. Coaches need to be having a good look at this.
