https://x.com/FootballMania91/status/1884908365664403540?t=SJghOmAta65ybqhl_nCR0g&s=19 We are apparently monitoring him according to this. Alongside a few other L1 clubs
Come from Mail Sport - Sheffield United starlet Louie Marsh, 21, picks up interest from several Championship clubs while Ipswich Town right-back Harry Clarke joins the Blades | Daily Mail Online which is probably equally reputable to be honest. Just thought I would share as it is the only rumour doing the rounds currently.
I thought of Marsh when One looked unlikely. I still think Ryan One would be a belting signing, but it's not as easy as that and the reports say we are not interested. Marsh is a great prospect without a doubt and would add quality to the squad, but he is very much the sort of player we already have in Keillor-Dunn and Humphrys. I wonder if there is any chance of going back for Victor Edvardsen from Go Ahead Eagles, who so nearly came in the summer. More the type of muscular front-man we need, but that looks as though it is a ship which has sailed now. A pity that Marcus Forss is out for the season at Boro. Cheap option? Matthew Hoppe from Boro - I doubt he would cost anything at all if permanent, but might be worth a loan. It looks as though he may be heading back to the USA though. Any more?
I agree we need someone with more of a presence up top - Cosgrove should offer that but we know he's not good enough. Hoppe had his contract terminated not too long ago so would be available for nowt.
When was the last time we were linked with a starlet? So wonderful to be looking at starlets, but do we need a telescope?
It's a new thing, although didn't Man City do something similar before the blond Norwegian? Play two fairly small players together up front, neither of which is a striker as such. Got to be a better option than what we have now surely? Leave Humps as an impact sub. Same with Watters, when fit. Leave Sam out of the squad altogether, unfortunately. I want to like him especially after that cheeky goal against Wycombe last season but it's impossible to take to him, isn't it? The sooner he gets fixed up elsewhere the better, for everyone's benefit.
We desperately needed a striker in the summer and signed DKD and Humphrys. DKD has proved a good signing but neither are strikers. If we sign another of the same ilk it’s just crazy. Time will tell but everyone knows what our recruitment lot are capable of……
My frustration lies in the fact that like you say we needed a striker last summer, why are we nearly at the end of another window and no one in yet?......the new striker should have been in early January, we have lost 3 games already this month and this may have been avoided if new personnel was in place. It’s poor by the recruiting team choose whatever they say about January being a difficult transfer window. They’ve had long enough to correct what they didn’t manage to in the summer
