https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/...et-wants-to-get-promoted-with-wycombe-4966470 Luton have had 3 bids turned down for him. Its rumoured elsewhere for as much as six million. Surely not. Luton have lots of strikers already.
Might come back to bite them in the arse though. Very brave move is that mate. Turning down 7 million for a striker who's only really had a good 6 months in league one is mental, after only just joining the year before from non-league! Fair play to 'em.
That's what you call a profitable signing if he goes, signed for 50k, pace to burn and developed his finishing massive profit if he ends up going
Aye, but non-league players are still rubbish!! Proper piece of business for Wycombe. I imagine if they don't go up they'll still get a decent fee. I think Luton are inflating price due to their circumstance
I think the rejection of these bids just shows Wycombe’s new found ambition with these new owners. People are right, of course we’d sell someone for £6m. Maybe their new owners don’t feel like they have to?
But he's an absolute 1 in a 1000 success story. How many Andy Dallas' would we have to buy before we dropped on a Kone.
We've dropped on plenty. Roberts, McDonald, Pinnock, Bullock, Sheridan, hopefully Shepherd & Lopata, etc. I can never understand the big tantrum on this site when we're linked with a non-league player, mate. It's a no brainer for me, in most circumstances. Cheap, low wages, big potential for profit... Literally cost next to nothing for us most of the time. I have absolutely no issues with it as long as it doesn't impact our main targets
Nah, you're going back over 30 years for some of those names and some of them are nowhere near Kone level. I'll give you Pinnock, but we undersold him, Shepherd and Lopata will never play in the Championship or earn us 7 figures. There are many more duds than diamonds in the last 10 years.
Yes and there always will be, bud. Same from academy, 1000s won't make it, less than 1% or whatever it is will. Not really sure how you can say they're not really on Kones level just because he's had a good half a season in league one. He looks good, strong, half decent finisher. He's scored 16 goals, 4 of which have been penalties. He isn't absolutely ripping the league up. What's the risk exactly? I could understand if it was costing us big money and we couldn't get other targets from it, but they're not
