BMBC missed bin collections.

Latest update below from BMBC ref recycling bins not collected.

Thats all well and good but we're still waiting for last week's recycling bin to be collected and the other is due to go out on Thursday. How is that "catching up?"

 

It'll all be fixed in April when they increase your council tax by 5/10/25%

Same with us, blue bin went out for Tuesday last week and brown bin is due to go out for this coming Tuesday.

 

Blue bin has been out over a fortnight, full of cardboard from Christmas. Brown bin was due to be collected yesterday, but nothing yet. Surely the solution was to send out both blue and brown bin lorries at the same time to be emptied by the same crew? Black bin was emptied on time.last week.

We had one lot of snow on 5th January we are now on the 31st. In Hemingfield we are one full bin collection behind I just don't get it 26 days since any snow and they are still behind. There is something very wrong and don't think we are getting the truth, emailed my local councillor and he said they aimed to clear the backlog by the end of this week well that's not happened.

 

If they'd been offered a bonus based on how quickly they could clear the backlog it would have gone in days.

We'll get them collected now, they've been embarrassed nationally.

Apparently it’s down to a new and safety rule saying the bin collectors can now only take one bin at a time rather than the they used to so they are no working to rule

 

My recycling bins have not been emptied in 2025 yet.
It's an impressive amount of poor management to allow 1 week of poor weather to get them so far behind.

My man on the inside says there's a new health and say directive from a new gaffer that has basically "fcked it right up".

So the lads are working to rule, moving one bin at a time rather than two and doing one side of the street at a time rather than two.

He says it'll get worse before it gets better, unless the person in charge changes their mind.

And despite my moaning, fair play to them. Honestly for most people they don't see or think about where council tax money goes. But let then down on taking away waste and the ill will to the council will only grow.
Problem in Barnsley is they know they will get voted back in.

 

I think it's the council bosses trying to see if they can get away with moving to emptying them monthly.
