He chose to cancel his deal late in the window to join us permanently as he didn't want to go on loan again and wanted to settle back near where he is from (North Yorkshire) he wasn't released.

I’m surprised. Majority seem to love him

Fired...I appreciate what you're thinking, for a time I thought he had potential but tbf Cosgrove has proved pretty conclusively that he's failed as a striker at his last 5 clubs...he's 29 next birthday I doubt he'll get any better.

Players don't cancel deals... Birmingham did the decent thing, agreed to let him go and released him.

Why would he want to bring one of the worst strikers in BFC history onto the pitch, I know I wouldn't, Cosgrove is so bad, in fact I see people just sat there laughing at him he's that ****

Cosgrove potential? He was 27 years old when we signed him.

Agreed to mutually let him go after his request. So wasn't released or paid off by cos they just decided to cut ties

The only saving grace is Cosgrove is out of contract in the summer, although there is a 1 year extension in the club's favour! Let's hope Mladen doesn't exercise that clause :D

We are down to the bare bones. If we don't get some strikers you might get a call to put your boits on for a game next weekend.

He’s gone backwards i think we agree.
    Has he been well managed?

At 0-0 v Burton on 85 minutes with nothing really happening up front I would still try something rather than plodding away with what has not worked for 3 games.
Like I say I’d have brought Dyer on. But if you think Humphrys has offered anything more than Cosgrove you’ve got to be crazy.

I don't agree Cosgrove has gone backwards...I think it was my initial hopes that were misplaced.

He could have given young Dyer a chance if he didn't want to bring Cosgrove on Humpries just kept running into trouble and losing the ball and offered nothing in the penalty area.

I have never seen Dyer play so can’t make judgement on how he would have done, I take it you’ve seen him play mate?

Same with Humphrys. I wouldn’t exercise the extra year on him either. Pity Watters’ contract isn’t up too then we could start with a clean slate on the striking front. Mind you, we haven’t been able to bring one in over the last 12 months so three in the summer would be a bit much for our lot.

I think it could take until 2026 to sort this squad out. Killip, McCarthy, Pines, Humphrys, Cosgrove and Benson all out of contract at the end of the season and there's around another 5 or 6 players out of contract in 2026. The squad is bloated, unbalanced and lacking quality. It will take time to sort this mess out.

Need to ditch basing all the recruitment on 352. Also need to inject some pace as well as someone who can actually carry the ball and take someone on.
Wouldn’t trust this lot to build a squad if they’d started with a clean slate. Get proper football people in charge of recruitment asap.

I agree, and also these need to not be within the club at present, i.e. I wouldn’t give it anyone in our academy as that is also a non productive area. We need a complete fresh start.

he also doesn't get the fact that by doing that it would have lifted the crowd and maybe injected a bit of hope into the stands
