Not going to slate him, he's not a regular and he's a right footed player playing on the left wing. It does however prove just how much we needed a new goalkeeper!!
The problem for me was that he tried to hit it with his right foot (and should still have scored) rather than his weaker left. Not sure why there is so much love for the new ‘keeper because I didn’t see him do anything that Killip couldn’t or wouldn’t.
He did. Against one of the poorer sides in the division who hardly created a chance worthy of the name. I hope he ends up being a fantastic signing, but I honestly don’t think you can judge based on today.
Keeper made a good save when pines did his usual u7s defending, doesn't Collins want to take pines with his either that or play him up front.
Still need to watch the highlights back but it looked a sitter from the west stand. I thought Lofthouse had a bit of a shocker first half and this was highlighted when he chose to pass back to the keeper rather than look forward. He was definitely better in the second half though and got past the defender a couple of times.
The point I'm making, admittedly ironically is that this miss sums it all up. In the last three weeks we've played 3 clubs in the bottom 8 and scored precisely zero goals. The answer from the Muppets in charge, waste precious resources we don't have according to them on a new goalkeeper. Killip would have kept a clean sheet today and had a decent game against Wycombe. The new goalie might be ok, but that position isn't the problem or the priority
Give over. Phiips' was one I'd be ashamed to miss. Lofthouse's was one I'd be pleased to finish. We miss chances like Lofthouse's every game we play.
I disagree,Gauci commanded his area and granted he only had to make one spread point blank save. His kicking and quick distribution was miles better.
I merely answered your question. Worth noting that Killip conceded at the current bottom club in the division if we're comparing like for like. Honestly, the keeper was the least of our issues today.
He’ll find the situation very weird. Was very close to joining a League 2 side at the start of the month, a team that was getting a very good deal financially from us to get him. Now he’s in the first XI and playing out of position.
I'd have forgiven him more if he had a go with his left. Non league player playing like a non league player. Pay him up and fck him off
I think Lofthouse was on last chance saloon day which he fluffed along with Benson and Cosgrove who were there too just to make the numbers up rather than contribute to the game
Last chance saloon? Why is it that if we have a young lad come through the academy or we buy someone young from a lower league club they get approximately 7 seconds to prove themselves but if we sign a useless lump from a championship or premier league team they get 4 year contracts and chance after chance?
