    Not sure.
Spent a lot of time flapping his arms around and shrugging 'not me' in his last season with us, and the few times I've seen him get minutes for Luton it looks like nowt much has changed. Just looks miserable.

And he blocked me on X.

As YT sez, should score for us for fun, but not sure he would want to.

Happy for him to prove me wrong, but he'd have to unblock me first.

I’d go down and to drive him back up myself and start a whip round to pay his wages.

    An actual proven centre forward.

Someone has suggested he was poor in his last 18 months with us. Pretty sure we finished 5th in the second tier during that timeframe. I await the “he didn’t score much” replies. Like Chaplin didn’t.

It wasn’t about individuals that season. Val had the team working, regardless of the players he picked.

One of the best strikers we’ve had in the last 20 years or whatever. In terms of goals scored. And a top professional who turned down offers to extend his contract here. Not many do that.

I’d be amazed if the club is looking at him, and if he’s looking at BFC. Unfortunately.

I agree - I'm not sure it's in Woodrow's best interest. Already from this post you can see what he can expect before he even kicks a ball for us and so far it's been mild and polite.

I would be extremely concerned if it took yesterday's game to drive home the message what's required. Last summer was extremely poor in terms of transfer activity and they've done **** all to rectify that so far. Incompetent and negligent are the words that spring to mind.

Like I say the club was a total mess that year. Nobody was happy, a lot of stuff was said online, he was one that got a lot of stick, he wasn't the only one who wasn't doing well and he won't have been the only one flapping his arms about etc. that season was just grim.

There's no reason he wouldn't want to score goals again. As I said in my last post on this thread, wouldn't have been my first choice when the window opened, but at this stage of the window, not sure we'd be able to find much better.

Agreed, but I really hope people will not continue to call for Darrell Clarke's sacking if the board let him down yet again. You're absolutely right that this summer is huge for this football club the squad needs a massive overhaul, it's too big and unbalanced.

Your all talking about the Woodrow we used to know. And yeah if he was still that good, it would be fantastic to have him back here.
But surely he's not that player anymore is he, even if he were to drop to Lg One or Two.
Which is why he's warming a poor struggling teams sub's bench these days.

He hasn't scored in 26 games. He's scored 6 goals in 77 games since leaving us. We can do better.

He’s started 15 games scoring 6 goals. We can all use the stats to suit an argument.

He has been a substitute (getting on for an average of 16 minutes per appearance) 62 times.

    In the top two divisions.

    He’s only recently turned 30.

If - as you claim - we can do better, I’m excited for tomorrow.

He would also be a great professional to have in the dressing room ,around the younger players.
Sadly that boat as sailed, another good pro left here, that got loads of stick especially on here and on the terraces.

Woodrow is great, I do worry about the service we could provide, that said he did score goals from nothing but my overriding feeling is we need pace and badly, someone that can run in behind and stretch teams and that isn't Cauley.

Imagine Cauley with those 4 big chances Watters missed, I'd put my money on him having at least a hattrick from them mate. Whether he fits our system or not, I'm not sure, but he can certainly finish and that's what we are crying out for

Frog, in fairness, how do you or anybody else know that he can still finish (put away the chances) as well as he used to.
And it brings about the same question again, if he is still that good, why isn't he getting more game time with his current club, who are doing badly ?.
I think it affected him badly here, when we made him captain. And in what was a poor time for all of us, players and fans, almost all of his desire seemed to have gone at the end.
But if a Lg One club are going to bring him in on loan, then good luck to him.

Thing is watters has a bit of pace but can't finish, I'm not sure cauley is making them runs in the first place, kieffer Moore was the perfect foil for him allowing him to feed off the bits and pieces of his hold up play, hold up play we don't posess.

But loans are always a risk mate, we could say the same thing about a 19 year old who's never kicked a ball in the pro game. He has a history, and perhaps a move might do him well. As YT above states, stats can be manipulated in anyway. Taylor couldn't get in that struggling Luton side either, I'd have certainly taken him. Morris & Adebayo are the first names on the team sheet in that position

He has loads of experience, plenty of goals, and sometimes all a player needs is a fresh move away to kick start his career. Hammill for instance was rubbish everywhere, but here. I'd certainly take him back on loan mate.

I agree with you about captaincy, I don't think in hindsight it was the right move giving it to him, I could understand it at the time though, but it does seem it backfired. I disagree when people say he downed tools, I just think that's incredibly rare that footballers actually down tools, it's more a lack of form or confidence, something like that bud .

I didn't make the downed tools comment this time lol, I think I've only ever said that about Devante.
I agree that loans are inconsistent and don't give a clearer picture, like a proper signing does.
But if Cauley needs that to kick start things again, then like I say good luck to him.
I also think we need the experience and some pace, and of course it goes without saying... that habit of putting the ball in the net.
    Simples!!.

Yes we definitely need some pace up front. Far too slow and ponderous. Ideally it would have been Cauley and then probably a younger lad who is raw but has strength and pace. Something like that. Be shocked if it happens though mate..!
