What does he bring to the party? I'm guessing he's on a fair whack, but to date his transfer windows have been underwhelming/shìte depending on your level of forthrightness. Can't see how a committee of our coaches could produce a level of recruitment anywhere near as dire as what we've seen recently and even if they did, we'd have saved a hefty salary without him. Just another reason to despise those cheating @rseholes Leicester, must have given him a fake reference just to stitch us up again.
Our results since he was given the job of sporting director: P47 W18 D13 L16 PTS:67 Which would have us finishing about 10th. We were 5th when he joined us, just 7 points behind Portsmouth in 1st, with a game in hand. We'd won 15 of our 28 games. We've only managed to win 18 since despite playing almost 20 more games.
Let's not forget that there's also Ann Hough who is bizarrely head of football operations which I genuinely have no idea what it means. Is she in charge of football and Mladen, as sporting director, in charge of our tennis club or something? Losing 8 million a year and spunking money up the wall on a sporting director, head of football operations and assistants to both made up positions. And we wonder why we can only afford the piss poor squad they were have now.
Total waste of valuable resources doing. All three doing absolutely nothing to justify their salaries.
Wouldn't like to think what our home form has been like under him. On his arrival he said he was implementing a single coaching and game methodology to be implemented through the club and to head up recruitment, failing on both.
The bloke will be picking up a hefty wedge and all he’s doing is drive us down the road to nowhere. His next action in a few weeks will no doubt be to sack Clarke after giving him zero support. He’s an absolute clown.
He’s just another yes man of the board. A board that has overseen the managed decline of this club. It’s time they were driven out.
We need to go back to days of having a proper scouting system that actually went and watched potential signings play, nothing against using data statistics alongside this but you need to see what you buying. Anybody on here remember the head scout Allan Clarke had when he first came, Martin Wilkinson his name and probably as good as we have had in my time following us. We need to go back to that basic system of assessing players. You need a footballing person at the head of recruitment and I am not sure if Mladen has any?.....I mean hands on experience not just data driven.
While my patience is now very thin, it's not like sacking a manager who can be dismissed and then replaced at a later date. The ownership cannot go until a viable replacement has been found and passed all manner of suitability tests. That's not a quick process, and in any case I don't see a long line of suitors. Or even a short one.
I don’t think i would mind if the club had just been honest about the situation and said it was looking to cut costs etc but whilst they have banged on for weeks about wanting to get better quality than what we already have (which only time will tell) if we have or not but realistically it’s not the better quality that we all envisaged due to the narrative the clubs been selling.
