Waghorn could be a good option for us. Not a signing I would ordinarily be excited about, but we're so short up front.

    Won't happen though

I think I'd burst into tears if we signed him. Why not go the whole hog and re-sign Willie Ferry. Even with a missing leg he's still half the weight of Waghorn.

I think we just have to accept that we have what we have. We've had our chance to get in the front players required and for whatever reason, we've failed to do it.

Only if he was aiming for the bottom step - and missed!

Don't think we will be signing an free agents doubt this lot will realise we can.
Think we'll be playing rest of season without an out and out centre forward who can score goals regularly

How embarrassing is this, for the 2nd season in a row, after the January transfer window we’ve got a thread discussing free agent strikers. Thank you Neerav and co. Thank you very much….

I think Dyer will move up to Marshes job on the bench.Rodrigues I assume has been fetched in as cover /competition for Watters.Another striker I feel would have set us up right for the final push, and personally I would have gone for experience irrespective of age or indeed nationallity.

I know I said that Rhodes' legs had gone but I'd rather have had him for the run in than no one at all. He would have been a decent option off the bench until the end of the season. I honestly thought we'd be bringing in someone younger anyway, especially with Watters nearly always struggling with injuries.
    Daft old gullible me......
Hope Dyer proves me wrong but I very much doubt he's up to L1 football.

I would have gave Dyer the last 20 minutes last Saturday.

Did anybody REALLY think we would be in a position to attract, buy and pay a proven goal scorer. We all know what we need , but getting it is impossible. Our only chance is to find a player who hasn't got a good scoring record who suddenly develops one.
How hard can that be. It appears to me that we have difficulty recruiting ANY player, never mind a prolific goal scorer.

I never thought for a moment we'd get a proven goal scorer but other clubs seem to find it easy to get a promising youngster on loan from the Prem or Championship. Surely that wasn't too much to ask over a window of 34 days.

Agree, but also it wasn’t just 34 days, we’ve needed a striker since the summer. It’s pisss poor imo.

Hope Dyer does get a chance at some point. How long is Jalo out for?

Think April was mentioned so not much of the season will be left.

That's a pity, would've been a good chance for him to get a proper run in the team.

Same is true of Marsh actually, maybe he could've got some more minutes. But the manager doesn't seem to think he's ready

Has anybody seen Dyer play and is he any good. I'm just asking as I was told he was only at the club cos of his dad and wasn't that good. I can't name my source cos it would expose the coach

I've seen the U21"s/academy in the past a number of times, and I like Flavell, Ravenhill plus Bland. Farrell has done well on loan till injury. I don't rate anyone else sadly.
