This latest malicious communication charge against him. Although it's obviously not nice to compare anyone with a serial killer, but is this now illegal?

I've certainly read a lot worse online from people but can't remember any of them in court for it.

I would have thought the person who was referred to in a statement would have to prove that they have been harmed in some way by the comments, ie reputational loss through people believing the comments. It's such a bizarre comparison he made, nobody would even treat it seriously surely.

Be an interesting one to watch the outcome. Barton could be clocking up the fines

There definitely hasn't. A counter point is there are already two high profile ACL injuries in the mens game this season and last season players such as Gavi, Courtois, Mings, Fofana, Timber and Neymar all suffered bad ACL injuries.
