McCarthy for Roberts and I'd be happy with that. That starting team should be a match for anyone in league 1. The bench though looks shocking if there are a number of injuries. Hope Rodrigues surprises everyone and is good. We need strikers, Watters isn't a goalscorer but if he led the line and assisted Phillips and DKD to score game after game, I'd be happy.

 

Doubt there’ll be 10k there with level of apathy right now. Obviously those numbers will be given out but I’ll be amazed if more than 7k turn up.

I agree social media doesnt help and if we lose thentoys get thrown out. I know the footballs not been great I don't think it's helped winning 4 on spin then losing 4 out of 5. But the football under wilson#2 Lee Jay Collins, ashbagi and schopp was worse than this season.

We haven't got a right to be promoted Sunderland took 6 seasons to get out of this league same with Sheffield United. Charlton are a bigger club than us I'd say and they've been treading water in league one for years.

The worrying thing is the amount of dead wood we keep stockpiling and the owners seem to have no long term plan buying players like Humphrys Cosgrove and watters. But we could have spent millions like Huddersfield and not won a game since.

I keep reading that last season was worse, but all I’ve seen is regression. No progress, no improvement. That’s not just opinion, it’s statistically true.

 

It’s the recruitment I have a gripe with and fully understand folk’s frustrations. The scattergun approach to recruit under performing forwards when a couple of proven ones would have been cheaper, the lack of a regular keeper, the lack of a midfield grafter in the mould of a Scowen, the stockpiling of wing backs with none that seem to be able to defend or beat a man going forward, the lack of pace in the back 3 (or anywhere for that matter)…..it’s all a mess.
We’re regressing year on year to the point where I genuinely think we’re going to struggle to compete at third tier level soon, especially with reduced income next season. Just how are we losing £8m a year too….I just don’t get it?

 

I was bored to death in all home matches last season but not so this season, so thats an improvement for me albeit minor.

 

As for the team, the following players started the four consecutive wins:

Maël, O’Keeffe, Phillips, DKD. Arguably our best four players this season. McCarthy started three of the four wins before playing the last 30 of the fourth. I’d suggest they all should start. Pick six others around them.

 

I just found the football boring last season the style of play was boring, Collins was boring. Games like Blackpool away abysmal. We had better players last season I accept that in terms of personal we have regressed. If numbers of fans keep dropping we will regress even further who will be to blame? Conway? Nareev? The players? The fans? The manager?
All of the above but longer in this league more chance of dropping again.

 

I think a 3pm ko against near neighbours with a large following will boost the attendance. Even those coming just to ‘protest’ will add to that
